Wonder Woman x Missha M Magic Cushion

I was a bit overwhelmed when I went to Korea last year. Part of it was because I didn't know what to buy although I did have a shopping list ready. The first outlet I actually stepped into was Missha. The only reason I went into Missha was because I wanted to pick something up for my sister.

Then, I came across Missha x Wonder Woman collection.

Honestly, I was never a big fan or Wonder Woman nor will I be one in future. However, when I got to know that the entire collection was on sale, I went frantic! I picked up two of the cushion foundation for 6000 won each (without refill), which was approximately RM24 at that time.

Just in case you are wondering about the differences between the blue and red packaging. Well, check out the picture below.

You can clearly see in the picture above that the cushion foundation with the red packaging gives a more matte finish whereas the other one gives a more dewy finish. So, that basically means the read one is for those with oily skin while the blue one is for those with drier skin. I wish I knew about this early. It was due to communication breakdown that I couldn't get what the beauty assistant was trying to tell me in one of the Missha outlets - I purchased the read one while my friend got the blue one.

Here's a picture of my purchase.

Nothing too spectacular because the packaging looks exactly like any other cushion foundations out there. To be honest, it is rather bulky comparing to the other foundations that I have. Well, I shan't complain about that.

The shade that I have gotten was No. 23 and for your information, I am a MAC NC25 and Korean foundations in the shade No. 23 suits me. So far, I have had no issues or problems with the shade at all and if I ever do in future, I'll let you all know.

If you are able to read Korean, here's a snap of the ingredients.

Just like any other cushion foundations out there, do make sure that your new cushion foundation are sealed. If it's not, you know it's not a new cushion foundation.

Anyway, the product does feel a bit to the thicker side if you'd ask me. I was really having high hope on this one since I was having really bad acne breakout at the time I wanted to start using this product. I was secretly hoping that this product could cover really well because all these years of using Missha BB cream, I've loved it so much to this very day!

Honestly, I was a bit worried on the consistency because my skin was in terrible mode and this product felt thick!

I was almost certain I wouldn't like it from just one swatch right at the back of my hand.

Negative thoughts aside, hence, I braved myself on applying the foundation on my skin.

There is nothing special with the application - all you need to do is just to pat the product using the puff onto your skin. Do note that it may take a little effort to blend the foundation onto the skin.

Indeed, with it's thicker consistency, this cushion foundation is able to give almost full coverage. Even the red veins at the side of my right nose is almost fully covered!

I was a bit shaken after half an hour of application because this foundation actually has the white cast effect - a really strong one if you're taking flash photography.

Gosh, I wasn't really ready for that.

I thought I saw a ghost in my reflection - like seriously!

However, under normal lighting, it looks quite okay.

Now, I am going to show you the differences of with and within the product on my skin - be prepared to be amazed!

I did not edit or photoshop my pictures at all and I am baring my skin to all of you.

Looks quite okay but please be prepared for a scare because you're gonna get it now! Imma show you one taken with flash photography.

Are you ready for it?

Wwwwoooooaaaaahhhh??!!

I showed it to the mister after the application and he got so shocked when he looked at me in real life. He said to me, "Please stop using that foundation! You look like a ghost!"

So much for a supportive other half, huh?

After a while, I came to understand the reasons why he said I resembled a ghost when I use the product.

The cracking kicked in just about one hour later and the cracks were pretty bad too!

The foundation sunk into my pores and made them more obvious. I saw streaks and streaks of foundation! Yikes! Blending was already so tedious and this was the result I got after an hour!

Honestly I was a bit disappointed on that day when I used it for the first time.

If you must know, I have already given away this foundation to a friend of mine who loves it.

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

Over the years, I have experimented with a lot of BB creams from the famous ones namely Etude House, Hanskin, BRTC, Skin79, Lioele, The Face Shop and few others. I have also tried out the not-so-famous ones like Shangpree, Giverny, Acwell, Heynature, Natina and several others.

Honestly, I tried loving these BB creams because they claim that they are much better than our typical foundations with added minerals and extra sun protection.

In the end, I either gave all these BB creams to friends and cousins or threw them away.

Not wanting to let go the BB cream craze, I told myself that I want to try out this final BB cream before fully reverting back to use my trusty foundations.

The infamous Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream.

I have heard a lot of good reviews about this BB cream and initially, I thought of wanting to get this online but then again, I was worried of the authenticity of the product. On top of that, if I am not mistaken, this BB cream is sold at around RM60 to RM90 depending on which blogshop you get it from. My first thought - overpriced!

Please don't judge me - I am not born with a silver spoon. I am quite reluctant to fork out my hard-earned money just to test out some products which I have no guarantee that I would love.

So, when my brother went to Korea early this year, I asked for his help to get one for me. I paid RM54 for a tube of 50ml worth of product - cheap!

On the packaging, you can find this information printed on the box.
The M Perfect Cover BB Cream makes your skin tone clean and natural by concealing blemishes with excellent skin coverage. It is a multi functional makeup cream with blocking UV rays, whitening and wrinkle care effects and simplifies makeup formalities. Its moisturized application with sleek W/S texture makes sleek skintone by supplying moisture and nutrition at the same time.

Directions: after basic skin care, apply an appropriate amount along the skin texture and finish with powder. Do not need to apply Sun cream in addition.

SPF (Sun Protection Factor): SPF of the product is measured by test methods of KFDA (Korean Food & Drug Administration).
One thing that always annoy me - product without pump. I don't like digging into products or having to squeeze them out. This product comes with a pump - that is a plus point

The pump works perfectly fine for me!

I have gotten shade No. 23 and I am a NC25 if you are wondering. The shade is just right - nothing too fair or dark.

The texture of the BB cream itself is quite thick. I was worried when I first pumped it out because the thicker the product is, the hardest it is to blend out.

So, then, I tested out for the coverage because I heard and read reviews that coverage is really good for this BB cream. I took out my eyeliner, make a stroke over my arm and this was what I got.

I wasn't really completely awed by the coverage. I was expecting the BB cream to completely cover the black eyeliner.

Boy, was I so wrong!

When you apply the BB cream onto your face, it does cover up your blemishes!

Notice there is pimple on my lower right cheek? Oh, wow... the BB cream managed to cover it with just one application!

I was impressed at that point!

I thought of going for the second layer but in the end nah... the BB cream felt a bit heavy. So, I was left with too much product on the back of my hand because I was too greedy.

This is how one pump looks like. Initially, I thought this is way too little to cover my face and neck so I pumped twice!

Guess what? Two pumps are way too much! I was being a complete idiot because I thought I have a real big and puffy face!

Best of all for those of you with big pores like me - this BB cream doesn't sink into your pores! I mean I know I hate BB creams and foundations that sink into the pores and make your complexion looks so, so ugly!

Here's a full-faced make-up.

This picture was taken under natural lighting in my room - nothing really special but coverage was good enough!

Here's another - side profile.

I am beginning to adore this foundation... I mean I seriously love this one so, so much. I have been using it to replace my trusty foundations and so far, it has yet to disappoint me!

Way to go, Missha!

Shangpree Crystal BB Cream

I think I have been doing a lot of entries about BB creams lately.

So, I think it is true that this BB cream craze is quite contagious because from one BB cream, I kinda add more BB creams into my collection. It is quite surprising that for a person like me who doesn't like BB creams in the past, would fall in love with them.

I mean, look at it this way - I still have 3 to 4 BB creams sitting in my make-up drawer after giving away 3 tubes of BB creams to my ex-colleagues. Furthermore, I think I still have a gazillion of BB cream samples scattered around in the drawer.

The other day, the ever-so-nice people at Colours Cosmetics Malaysia sent me some samples from one of the Korean brands, ShangPree. One of the samples was the Crystal BB Cream.

I am the kind of person who always keep all kinda samples in the drawer and then, totally forget about them on the next day but this time around, I made an effort to remember this BB cream because first of all, I appreciated the sample of BB cream sent to me and second of all, I was curious since I had fallen in love with BB cream not long ago.

One pack lasted for 3 to 4 applications because the texture of the BB cream is quite thick.

Well, this basically means, if you're getting the ShangPree Crystal BB Cream, it will last you for quite some time because a little goes a long way. You have to trust me on that because you won't want to waste any product!

On blending, this BB cream blends quite effortlessly due to its creamy texture. Remember when I've mentioned a little goes a long way? I guess you can pretty much see from the picture above how creamy the BB cream is. Well, for some of us, this may be a minus point because it means heavy make-up!

Whenever I try out BB cream, my main concern would be the shade. Yes, I am a typical Asian with yellow undertone. Anything with pink undertone doesn't work on me at all.

Hence, my first thought when I squeezed it out from the packaging and dotted onto my face, "OMG... the shade is too fair for me!"

As far as the application goes, I used my Colours Cosmetics Malaysia's Short Handle Flat Top Foundation Brush to buff the BB cream onto my skin. Well, no particular reason why I'm using that brush, it's just I love it and I find myself reaching out for that brush more often than other foundation brushes I have.

I was right regarding the shade is too fair for me because right after application.

Please don't freak out first - BB creams usually takes about 3 to 5 minutes to set to your original skin tone, hence, I sat around, waited for the colour to change. I guess that is the basic rule of using BB cream, right?

Oh, as far as coverage goes... since the texture is quite thick and creamy, it covers very well!

I almost couldn't see my enlarged pores and broken veins around my nose when I was using this BB cream!

Another pro would be that I won't say this is the best long-lasting BB cream ever but it performs quite well. It lasted for about 3 to 4 hours! Best thing - it did not oxidize to grey colour on my skin!

Make-up of the day - date night with natural look and eyelash extension only just because Ryan doesn't like me putting too much make-up.

Pros
  • Thick and creamy
  • Blends effortlessly
  • Medium to full coverage

Cons
  • Only one shade available
  • Feels 'heavy' due to its texture
  • Does not oxidize much on my skin

I certainly hope this entry would be a little bit of help for those of you who are interested in this BB cream.

ShangPree Crystal BB Cream is available exclusively in Malaysia via Colours Cosmetics Malaysia at RM119 only.

P.S. I am not paid to do this entry.

Real Skinny vs. Mineral BB Cream

Giverny is one of the cosmetic companies in Korea that delivers quality and reliable products to several countries such as Paris, Korea, Japan, China, Indonesia and just recently available in Malaysia through The Sops Seoul @ Publika.

If you don't know yet, The Sops Seoul has their in-house brand, VOV, in which you'll never miss the signboard if you are passing by the outlet in Publika.

If you are interested in both BB creams as stated on the title of the entry, read on to find out which BB cream suits your skin type.

For your information, I have combination skin so, whatever I feel and think does not represent everyone's preference.

Both Real Skinny and Mineral BB Cream are produced by Giverny. The only difference is that Real Skinny BB Cream caters for the need of those with normal to combination to oily skin whereas Mineral BB Cream caters to the need of those who have sensitive and problem skin.

ACWELL Mineral BB Cream is formulated with Puritox, which is believed to be a very good properties for those with sensitive skin. I understand the fact that for those who have really sensitive skin, it is very difficult for them to find suitable make-up products for their skin types. As for Real Skinny BB Cream, basically, anyone with any skin type can use this BB cream.

As far as texture and coverage are concerned, Real Skinny BB Cream provides better and more promising coverage rather than Mineral BB Cream. Even though the texture of Mineral BB Cream is thicker and creamier than Real Skinny BB Cream, I find that Mineral BB Cream does not do any justice on my enlarged pores.

Yes, I understand pores I can't hide my pores but the thing is... if possible, I would like to blur them out.

Real Skinny BB Cream provides whitening, anti-wrinkle, sun protection and skin-repairing properties whereas Mineral BB Cream does not. It is just a basic BB cream used to give a more radiant complexion.

You can even see from the packaging that Real Skinny BB Cream has a more premium feel whereas Mineral BB Cream has just a normal packaging.

As for shade and colour, I find out that the Real Skinny BB Cream suits my complexion better due to its yellow undertone. It doesn't give white cast during flash photography, which is really, really good!

Best of all, my skin looks almost flawless when I am using the BB Cream!

As for Mineral BB Cream, maybe because the shade doesn't match me that it gives white cast during flash photography. The undertone for think BB cream is pink!

Unless I am taking no-flash photography, then, this BB cream would look natural but the thing is, I love flash photography more than anything so... I'd most probably not be using this during photography sessions.

Both BB Creams are available at The Sops Seoul @ Publika if you are interested.

Giverny Real Skinny Magic BB Cream retails at RM129 whereas ACWELL Mineral BB Cream is RM89. I am grateful that I have been given a chance to try out the BB Cream even before they are and were launched.

In the end, I hurt my savings and purchased the Giverny Real Skinny Magic BB Cream after using it for about two weeks!

Yeah, blame it on the love for beauty!

Have a wonderful day, peeps!

Skinny BB cream that makes you skinny!

Hi, peeps!

As promised, I will try to blog more but sometimes, due to workload, I find myself fall asleep as soon as I step out of shower. Now, I am fully aware why adults are always so tired. Oh, yeah... I'm an adult too! LOLX! I'm still a kid at heart!

I received several comments from some of my blog entries. Honestly, I can't express my heartfelt gratitude to you guys who have drop by for a visit! I promise, I will read each and every comment and email but there's a problem. My blog comment is set under Disqus, hence, if comments are left under blogger, they won't show up at all even if I approve them. I really would love to reply to your comments if possible. Therefore, if you would like me to reply, do comment on Disqus. It may take some time to load but I promise, Disqus is really a good choice for blog comments!

Anyway, I'm gonna blog about one of my newly found love - Giverny Real Skinny Premium Magic BB Cream.

Honestly, before I started working for my current company, I knew close-to-zero about Korean skin care and cosmetics. Not that I am prejudice or anything but somehow, I was not aware of the products since most of the people around me are more inclined towards products like Clinique, Lancôme, SKII and such brands. So, naturally, I was influenced by them.

The day when I first started my work, my boss gave me a sample of Giverny Real Skinny Premium BB Cream to try out. She told me I would like it because firstly, it is unlike any other BB creams out there. Secondly, the coverage is quite good considering I have large pores and uneven skin tone. Little did I know, my whole thoughts on BB creams would change after using this BB cream.

Giverny Real Skinny Premium Magic BB cream promises whitening, recovery, anti-wrinkle and anti-UV effects. I mean, what have I lose to try, right? Especially since I like it so much after trying out the samples.

First reason why I like this BB cream - the packaging.

Yes, I am an idiot and noob when it comes to packaging! I think I will be forever drawn to waste my moo-lah because of nice packaging!

When I am saying the packaging of this BB cream looks really nice, I mean it - imagine Gucci's packaging and you'll know what I'm talking about.

~ Picture courtesy of Quin Kitty ~

It comes in gold and black packaging and the quality of the paper box is like undeniably thick and good! The whole packaging spells PREMIUM! I mean, how can you not like it, right?

I am quite impressed with the solid and look-so-high-class packaging!

So, when the actual stocks for this BB cream reached the shore, I hastily bought one for myself.

Another thing why I like the packaging - it comes with a pump for easier and more hygienic application!

I hate to admit it but I hate any skin care or make-up products that need to be scooped out. I also dislike anything that comes without a pump exception for my SKII Facial Treatment Essence.

Second reason why I love it so much - the consistency and texture of this BB cream is just like a foundation.

More than often, we try not to go for BB creams if we want fuller coverage but this product has made me change my mind - once pumped out, the BB cream itself is quite thick! It is definitely not watery or runny.

This BB cream provides medium coverage and it is buildable to full coverage too!

Best of all, one application can already hide my acne scars, pores and even out my skin tone. Upon the application of the second layer, it covers my dark under eye circles!

How wonderful is that?

Even though the BB cream comes with SPF30++ in it, I am so glad that it causes no white cast during flash photography!

Awesome!

As for pictures taken under normal lighting, the effect is even more natural!

Me likey, likey and likey so much that I'm halfway to finish up this BB cream - yay, that means I can get new one really soon!

Did I mention that the coverage is really good for this BB cream?

It hides my enlarged pores so well that I wish my skin is just like so every single day! It also conceals the redness around my nose and my dark under eye circles!

Best of all, this BB cream is sweat-proof and also waterproof!

It doesn't oxidize to grey or whatsoever shade, so you don't have to worry. Once the colour sets, it will stay that way for at least 5 to 6 hours! Considering I do not need to keep on touching up the BB cream, I would say this BB cream is long lasting - better than my Shiseido Foundation.

However, there are few downsides of this BB cream.

First would be that it is not oil proof although it is formulated for all skin type. If you have quite oily skin, the shade will fade around your nose area first. No, no, no... you don't have to worry that it doesn't suit you because, I have oily combination skin and I guess my skin does love this BB cream. A friend of mine who has dry skin also loves this BB cream because according to her, it gives her a healthy glow.

Secondly, I hate it when my foundation or BB cream transfers to the screen of my mobile when I am answering calls - this BB cream transfers a bit.

This BB cream retails for RM129 and you can get it at The Sops Seoul at Publika, Midvalley and Fahrenheit. Now, they are having promotion until 31st December 2012 for this BB cream at 15% off. It is quite worth it considering there were hardly any promotions for Giverny products before.

Make-up for sensitive skin

I am lucky to have normal skin that does not react to most of the skin care that you can find in the market. Therefore, a lot of the times, I get to use quite a number of products without having to worry about the ingredients in the products.

So, I am always counting my blessings when it comes to normal skin because I do come across a few people in my life who have really fragile skin. Whenever they are allergy to certain ingredients, their skin tend to react - pimples, acnes, rashes, red spots and others.

Sometimes, it does struck me how my friends find suitable skin care and make-up products for themselves. It has been pain in the neck to follow them around to find these products.

Well, counting your blessings yet - those of you with normal skin?

Fret not because I am sharing with all of you with sensitive skin - BB cream for those with sensitive skin!

I know what you're thinking.

"WHAT?! My skin is already sensitive and you want me to wear BB cream?!"

Hey, hey, hey, don't worry, this BB cream is formulated especially for those with sensitive skin.

May I present to you - ACWELL Mineral BB Cream.

For your information, this BB cream is oil-free.

Sounds promising?

Read on...

ACWELL is a line of product specially manufactured by Giverny Paris for those with problem and dry skin.

If you don't know yet, Giverny is a Korean company with the formulation of the products coming from Paris. A lot the products from Giverny are actually of premium quality so it'd not be weird if the price of each product is about RM100 or maybe more.

I am unable to disclose the actual price of this BB cream since it is not yet available in Malaysian market but it will be available soon.

The packaging is sleek and prestige.

Once you take out the product, you will see a even neater packaging - the BB cream comes in pump form. Bottle and pump, get it? LOLX!

One plus point that I really do like for this BB cream is that even after pumping out the product, it does not make the whole packaging messy or anything. In fact, this is what I would like to define - neat and sleek! I used to have really bad experience with some BB creams that ended up creating a mess everywhere!

The texture of this BB cream is very, very thick. If you are thinking of dragging, tugging or pulling it across your skin, think twice! It is way to thick for you to rug or pull it across your face. The best way to apply it is to use patting motion. Total blending and application time may be longer if compared to other BB creams that I have tried.

Since the texture of this BB cream is very thick, the coverage is medium. It does quite a good job in covering red spots and broken veins but it does not cover your dark under eye area. Due to its consistency, a little product goes a long way because usually, for my face, I would need around 2 to 3 pumps for full coverage but this BB cream proves me wrong - half a pump may even be too much for the whole face! It is crazy, I know!

Best thing of all, yes, it is oil-free because I don't think it greases up or anything throughout the day. Oxidation is minimal too once it sets onto your skin.

If you are worried that you have a function to attend to at night and scared foundations or BB creams will give you white cast because of the SPF inside, well, you can free yourself of worries because this BB cream does not contain SPF.

I find the lasting power of this BB cream is not bad - it lasts for about 5 to 6 hours without re-application or setting powder. If you have to know, this BB cream wears off the fastest around the side of your nose and forehead. Yeah, T-zone! Other than the wearing off part, I have no complain at all.

So, for those of you with sensitive skin, look forward to the launching of ACWELL in Malaysia!

Next generation BB cream

Troubled skin?

Refusing to use foundation?

Well then, I bet all of you know, among Asian women, BB creams are the IN things now. I guess 9 out of 10 women these days have already tried out those BB creams available in the market.

As for myself, I have tried and tested a fair amount of BB creams in our Malaysian market and honestly, I am not really a big fan of BB creams because I personally think majority of the shades in the market are either too fair, too pinkish or too grey-ish.

Furthermore, these BB creams do not last long. The wearing time is around 3 to 4 hours before they start melting off. For those drugstore ones, I guess the longest wearing time that I could vouch for is Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream - probably about 2 to 3 hours.

I hate re-application - that is one of the reasons why I turn to foundations in the end.

Therefore, I gave away most of the BB creams in my possession to either stupid sister or friends because it is really not good to just throw away since there are people who might appreciate them. Yeah, I am such a kind and considerate person, just like so. LOLX!

Anyway, of all the hypes about how good a BB cream is, I came across the next generation of BB cream called the CC cream when I visited Singapore in December last year.

I guess I discovered it a little later than others.

That time, I was not so keen on trying it out even though there were testers on the display. I was loving my foundation and never heard of the brand before.

It was not until June or July, I came across one of the Singapore's top beauty bloggers, Roseanne Tang's entry where she blogged about the exact CC cream that I saw in Singapore - Rachel K CC Cream.

It made me curious and I wanted to try it out after reading Roseanne's reviews and also watching her video in which she compared several BB creams and also the Rachel K CC Cream. Since then, I have been wanting to get it but nobody was able to send it back to my hometown for me. Thus, I waited until last month when stupid sister went to Singapore and bought the pink tube of Rachel K CC Cream for me.

I was too excited and couldn't wait to test it out.

Rachel K CC Cream retails for about SGD$30. I guess that is a decent price for BB or CC creams, right? Well... at least I think so.

So, let's see, what is CC cream and what is the hype all about, shall we?
Rachel K CC Cream is essentially a much-improved and refined BB (Beauty Balm or Blemish Balm) cream that will do everything that is expected of a BB cream and the most important and intriguing difference in a CC cream is the delivery of the cosmetic properties.
While BB cream is toted primarily as a golden product of the skincare industry in Asia, CC cream has been developed to retain all the skincare benefits of a BB cream as well as more effective ingredients and skin coverage.
This is where the “color control” comes in. Unlike BB cream, CC cream rocks a heavier, more cosmetic-like coverage that actually has a lighter texture. This results in a formula that is extremely easy to blend, yet offers a smooth and even-toned base that looks like a second (flawless) skin.
The Rachel K CC cream has undergone a lot of testing and revealed some very impressive results:
When compared to BB cream, test subjects agreed that Rachel K’s CC cream had a less oily texture, a better whitening or brightening effect, 3 times better coverage, absolutely no breakouts, longer-lasting moisture and hold, and 5 times better stability.
Well... if you want more information, there are more on Rachel K's website.

So now, why exactly CC cream instead of BB cream?

So, let's see how the Rachel K CC Cream fairs in my honest opinion.

When the first time I tested it out, I was half expecting the CC cream to have a watery texture but no, I was wrong. The texture is quite thick!

Yeah, thick and it does not slide or glide everywhere during application - good news, huh?

I guess that would be one plus point to this CC cream because I hate my foundation, BB cream or whatever you call them to slide or glide during application.

The shade I have gotten is Neutral because Original is too fair with more pink undertone to it. Neutral is fine with just a little pink undertone which in my honest opinion would suit Asians with fair to medium skin tone. Oh, haha... I just realized I am not too dark. LOLX!

Blendability is okay, not too bad. I find it difficult to apply if you were to drag the CC Cream across your face due to its thick texture. So, best way to apply it - patting motion! By patting motion, I mean patting your face, just like when you are massaging your face.

Another plus point is that this CC cream happens to be quite waterproof. After applying it onto my hand, I tried running it under the water and pooooofff... it's still there.

It does say on the packaging that it is smudge proof but honestly, I would not agree with that. I personally think it is not smudge proof. After the application, I tried rubbing it with my fingers and it came off. This is quite a big no-no for me because if it is not smudge proof, most probably it will come off in about 3 to 4 hours on my oily skin.

We shall discuss about the coverage of this CC cream.

One thing that I do like about this CC cream is that it covers quite well. I wouldn't say the coverage is good but it's like a little above average. I notice an immediate whitening effect and also the evens out my skin tone quite well.

I know you'll think it looks too fair on me but let's just give the CC cream some time to set, shall we? So, I proceeded with my eye make-up, blush and lipstick.

In about 15 minutes, the colour adjusts itself to fit my complexion.

Not bad, right? Considering I took the pictures with flash and there is no white cast or anything.

If you are worried that the CC cream might be too oily for you, don't worry. I think it is not oily even though the texture is quite thick.

On the lasting power - I'll give it a rating of 3 out of 5 because it wears off in about 5 hours or so especially on my T-zone.

Will I purchase it again?

I guess for the nearest time, I won't be re-purchasing Rachel K CC Cream. One tube can last me for quite some time, furthermore, I have found HG BB cream already.

A balm that recovers imperfections

Ever since my whole traincase was stolen when my house was broken into, I dreaded going to the store or make-up counters to get new products because...

  1. I have quite a tight budget since I need to prioritize - skin care have to come first since my existing products have been stolen too.
  2. I am sucker because I don't know which brand I should get since I don't want to spend more than I have and afford. There are too many brands out there!
  3. I am hoping there would be a kind Samaritan who would donate some make-up or skin care products to me because I am super pitiful just like so.

Yes, don't remind me. I am gonna curse these thieves to their graves and even to the graves of their great grandchildren!

This time around, I get lucky because a really kind Samaritan gave me a bag of BB creams! I mean, oh yeah! It should be my turn to get lucky since I've been pretty unlucky to have everything that I have ever treasured taken away from me by some f-ing thieves!

As of now, I shall try to calm down because I'm gonna tell you about one of the BB creams that the good Samaritan gave me!

BRTC Perfect Recover Balm.

The good Samaritan told me that all the BB creams in the goodie bag are directly brought in from Korea in bulk so, prices of those BB creams are somehow unknown because she isn't sure whether or not these BB creams are priced similarly from those in Korea.

I'm a huge fan of Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream and other than that BB cream, I often hesitate to even try others out. It is not that I'm not adventurous enough but if you are a BB cream user, you'd definitely know what I am talking about.

Half of the BB creams available in the market have limited shades and most of the times, these shades are meant for those with fairer skin tones. Even when it is mentioned on packaging that the shade will oxidize to match our natural skin tones, sometimes, those claims are bull-nuts. I've tried tones of BB creams and so far, the only BB cream that works for me is the Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream.

Whatever the claim is, I wouldn't mind trying out new BB creams if they are well... FREE!

Greed - one of the worst human natures! Hahahahaha!

Okay, BRTC Perfect Recover Balm.

So, the name is Perfect Recover Balm. The question is - is it going to recover imperfections?

I was skeptical. Yeah, I refuse to trust the claim that it is able to recover the imperfections on my face. However, I still tried it out several times before coming up to a conclusion.

It can be see from the above pictures that this product comes in a tube form. Honestly, I do prefer pumps more than squeezy tubes.

Just like any other tube products, it gets a little messy over some time but it is okay. I have no complain with free stuffs. LOLX!

The only English words that I could find on this product is shown below.

Well... it's from Korea so, it explains all the Korean on the packaging.

The BB cream, when squeezed out of the tube looks something like the picture below.

It is not runny nor thick. I would say the consistency is quite average - somewhere between thick and runny but it does not run down your skin like some other BB creams.

I would hate that.

Somehow, I do notice that this BB cream has a pink undertone to it. You know what, Asians have yellow undertones and I am quite worried that I may end up looking like a ghost on Halloween Town.

Upon blending it onto my skin, I could still see the pink undertone and, seriously, the first thing that came to my mind was, "GOSH!"

Okay, that only happened when I saw the pink tone turned grayish upon blending.

Whatever it is, I decided to try it out. Let's put this BB cream to test, shall we?

Let the application process starts! Imma gonna dot the BB cream all over my face just like so!

Caution - do not freak out at the picture below...

LOLX!

That was meant for a joke!

Okay, on the whole, application is not easy because the BB cream does not glide easily or so. It is not advisable to use a foundation brush for this BB cream because of the texture. The best way to apply this BB cream is to use patting motion.

Yikes!

I think the BB cream looks a little too fair on me, just like any typical BB cream. Sighs...

I guess the only way to correct it - use a darker setting powder.

The pink undertone still shows.

The good thing about this BB cream  that it does cover blemishes quite well surprisingly! The redness around my nose is covered. Pores become less visible too!

Urgh... I still don't like the part where this BB cream makes me look ghostly...

Well... I don't think I will re-purchase this BB cream given the money. I have already given it to stupid sister since she is like way fairer than me.

Like it?

Not really.

Hate it?

No.

Have you try this BB cream out!

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream

Okay, I should admit... there was a period of time when I went hype over BB cream because everyone was talking about how good these miracle creams are. At that point of time, I went overboard and bought several different BB creams at one go because I was so scared I might run out of it.

The first BB cream I had ever gotten was from Skin79. Click here for the review. It was a meh product because there would be white cast no matter how little product I used. So, I gave it up to stupid sister since she is definitely fairer than me.

After that, I was into Etude House Collagen Moistfull BB Balm for a while before finding out that this product left white cast on me too. I didn't do review on this product since I gave it to my mum.

The final BB cream I tried was Heynature Silver Label Aqua Blast Blemish Base. I kinda liked this one for a while because it oxidized at a much lower rate than the previous two BB creams I have tried. However, after a while, I had decided that this BB cream was more towards lighter coverage BB cream. I always need heavy duty stuffs, hence, I gave this away to one of my BFFs.

Bah... true, indeed, I still have other BB creams in my collection but I have yet to try them because I want to finish up my current foundation.

Three months ago, however, there was this tiny weeny sample sized collection of Maybelline BB cream in my CLEO magazine.

Honestly, I wasn't quite impressed with BB creams after the incidents hence, I did not expect anything from that BB cream. A friend of mine dislikes this BB cream because according to her, it doesn't have enough coverage or bla, bla, bla...

I thought to myself, "No harm trying since this is free."

I kept it for quite sometime and totally forgot about this freebie until CNY that I realized I have so many unused products in my possession. Since this freebie came in a small tube, I was sure I could finish it all within three days but boy... I was wrong...

5ml worth of product and I still have it - unfinished... like how are you going to believe that?

I tested it out just a day before CNY and geez... I fell in love with it... the shade matched me so well that I felt it melted into my complexion like magic. Oh, the shade I had gotten was #01 Fresh.

It was as if I wasn't wearing any foundation or BB cream!

I know you get the ideas of choosing the right shade of foundation or BB cream by testing it on your jawline. If the shade matches you, it kinda blends well into your skin. I agree to that but since I thought of sharing the shade of this BB cream with you guys, I tested it on the back of my hands.

The shade is a perfect match to my skin tone - both on my jawline and also on the back of my hand! Like how magical can BB creams get, right?

It was love at first use and throughout the first three days of CNY, I was basically hooked to Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream!

Owh, this is how I apply the BB cream...

It felt smooth and not to heavy. I wouldn't say you will feel like you're not wearing any BB cream or foundation. Trust me, it's light weight!

Coverage is light to medium, depending on the amount you apply.

Best of all, no white cast noted during day or night time!

Lasting power, it didn't last the whole day like foundation but at least, it did lasted a few hours before it wore off on me. Like always, I would apply a thin layer of powder after the BB cream application to ensure it's longevity.

Anyway, I am pretty sure I'll be stocking up this product when I am through with all the BB creams I have now.

Here's my two-cent.
