One of the brushes

Hello, peeps!

I guess you all can actually see that I haven't been blogging about of the things I love most - make-up and skincare, for quite some time.

Well, the fact is, I've started working and everyday and I am dealing with make-up and skincare products as one of my routines every single day. Sometimes, I even have to deal with difficult clients so, I guess I just have to persevere. It's not that bad because I do like my job based on two main things - I don't need to buy all those make-up products because we get to use them for free and we can even use the skincare products there every single day.

How cool is that?

Anyway, story of my job aside because this is one of the backdated entry that I was supposed to share but I procrastinated quite a bit. LOLX!

Meet one of my favourite brushes - Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush!

I contemplated to get it initially because I thought of wanting to buy either MAC or Sigma foundation brush but in the end, since MAC is not available at my hometown and I was too lazy to do online shopping, I headed out to Parkson and bought this brush! I knew I will not regret it because Paris B of My Women Stuff blogged about this brush and thereafter, I made up my mind to buy it!

If you don't know just yet, this brush is meant for applying liquid foundation but I tried applying my cream foundation with it and it worked fine!

This is a slanted flat top brush. Since it is slanted, I find application of foundation is a breeze! It reaches the side of my nose easily with either brushing or stippling motion.

Most of the times, I personally prefer to use it via stippling motion because it would give an air-brushed finish, which is dewy!

The bristle is really dense and soft.

Well, I wouldn't consider this brush as super expensive or cheap. I would like to use the term affordable. It retails for about RM100 at Shiseido counters throughout Malaysia. However price may differ depending on which state you are from.

I never expected I would love this brush after my MAC 109 was stolen. It maybe only half of my MAC price but it does its job quite decently.

I guess one brush would last me for a while. I would re-purchase it again in future! Please, Shiseido, please don't up the price!

Shiseido and the disco ball

I like parties, homecomings and also balls... if you get what I mean.

We don't actually have such events going on in Malaysian high schools or such. I was only aware of such things as parties, homecomings, balls and proms only when I was halfway through doing my degree. That was when I was only 21.

Imagine how ecstatic I was when I could join my university's prom night! I was expecting to see disco balls and I guess that was the only reason that made me anticipated for that day to come. LOLX!

Oh, sweet and tender 21!

I like diamonds and golds shiny stuffs so when something is packaged in such a way that it resembles a disco ball, I often get attracted.

So, when I walked by Shiseido's counter the other day, it was like immediately, I noticed a liquid foundation that resembles a disco ball - Shiseido MAQuillage Essence Rich White Liquid UV Foundation.

Phew... that is really a long name, Shiseido!

Let's take a glance at what Shiseido claims about this foundation...

  • Serum foundation with Pure White Essence E* to nourish your skin
  • Covers pores and dullness
  • Light-diffusing effects for a radiant finish
  • Conditions your bare skin that so it remains supple and hydrated

I am not gonna boast but I do like the packaging of this liquid foundation. It looks extra fancy and high-class because the bottle is made out of glass whereas the the pump comes in plastic form. I like the fact that the pump makes it easy to control how much product your are going to pump out of the glass bottle itself. You may go all the way to pump out more product or if you do not need so much of it, you may just give a light pump and few dollops of foundation will emerge!

It's a good packaging!

The foundation comes with a free sponge for application.

You see... I really like the packaging from the foundation to the sponge. They made effort to store the sponge in a plastic compartment for hygiene purposes. If you don't know yet, once you take the sponge out of the compartment, you will notice there are two sides - white and pink.

According to the BC at Shiseido, the white side is used to apply the foundation onto your face while the pink side is used to blend out the foundation for a more even look.

I am not quite sure because I did not use the sponge at all. I managed to get myself a really good foundation brush from Shiseido so, I used that brush to apply this foundation.

On the whole, I would say this foundation is not a full coverage foundation - I would say it is medium coverage, in which, if you want to fuller coverage, you may need to apply second or third layer. Most of the times, you'll find me liking foundations that offer full coverage but there are times when I just wanna stay, you know, natural and this foundation does it's job.

Oh, being a medium coverage foundation, it does a pretty good job in hiding my dark under eye circles if it is used as concealer.

Consider from this...

Yes, I know - very serious dark under eye circles, large pores, uneven skin tone, redness and yada, yada, yada... My apologies if I've make you puke.

LOLX!

Okay, from that... to this...

Your royal hotness!

Hahahaha... it's a self-proclaimed hotness actually.

Let's do a recap of what Shiseido claims this foundation can do...

  • Serum foundation with Pure White Essence E* to nourish your skin
The texture of this foundation does feel a little bit like the serum I am using. It does not feel heavy or anything even though it is a medium coverage foundation. I guess serum is good?
  • Covers pores and dullness
Yes, with just one application, my imperfections as stated above are covered without primers! You can even double it up to act as concealer to conceal your redness!
  • Light-diffusing effects for a radiant finish
Exactly! My complexion is a lot brighter and it's radiant every time I use this foundation!
  • Conditions your bare skin that so it remains supple and hydratedI am not really sure it does condition my bare skin or not but for those of you with oily combination skin, you don't have to worry because personally, it does not turn oily every time I use it. In fact, the feeling is like - second layer of skin.

I am happy that it meets all the company claims!

Thumbs up!!!

Shiseido also claims that this foundation can last up to 8 hours and well.. I have never worn my foundation for 8 hours straight but I did have this foundation on several times for up to 5 hours each time I use it.

It does last for that long without re-application.

It brightens up my complexion without the ghostly white cast. I told the BC that I wanted something without SPF since I don't want to be a disco ball under flash photography but as far as I was told, Shiseido doesn't have any liquid foundation without SPF. This one comes with SPF25 PA++

So, am I going to re-purchase this foundation?

Definitely a yes but I would like to try out other liquid foundations as well especially Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. I had it but it was stolen - damn upset and sad.

Anyway, before I end this entry - lemme show you another camwhore shot.

Have a great week, people!

Return, without a 'bang'!

As promised, I will be getting back on blogging track as soon as I get a new laptop and here I am now, blogging with a new laptop that is not mine but well... temporarily mine. LOLX!

If you are wondering why, my house was broken into my some asshole of thieves the day I got back home from KL and those bastards practically took everything. Yes, when I've said everything, it includes my traincase full of makeup as well as all my skin care products I've just bought from Clinique and Lancôme. Imagine how could I not gone weak on my knees when I got home from the church that very night and saw my living room in a mess with my stuffs gone. All my precious pictures in my laptop and external hard disk were gone too, thus, I was unable to even blog about it.

The whole experience left me really upset and moody because I treasure all my stuffs, laptop and pictures! All these years of memories were gone because of those assholes! I curse them. Yes, right, I really do curse them and their descendants that they'll all die ugly deaths! Do not blame me for cursing them because they even took the earrings my late grandmother left for my mother. You tell me, if you were me, how would you feel?

Whatever that is, I don't really want to know except that these people deserve to have their limbs amputated for stealing.

Anyway, thanks to these suckers, I have to spend a fortune to get new make-up and also skin care products. The downside to it, although I get to buy new products, I can no longer afford branded skin care or make-up products. FML!

I only had RM500 in my possession the day I went out to get new stuffs because a lot of brands I am using are not available at my hometown and I do not want to pay extra to ask people to post these stuffs back to me since postage would be hefty!

So, I picked up whatever that are available and I practically spent like RM474 on all the stuffs you see in the picture below.

Definitely not everything that I need but since I desperately needed make-up products for my BFF's wedding, I had to get something. I figured out I didn't wanna spend too much on irrelevant products this time around so, I ended up getting only those products I am familiar with and have been using. This includes products I have been loving exception for the new Shiseido liquid foundation and brush.

I have been raving the Shiseido foundation brush for quite some time after reading Paris B's review on it a few months back. I had no plan on getting one back then because I had my trusty ELF foundation brush but since I no longer had it, I wanted to get a really good brush that is worth every penny.

Anyway, that is a story for another day.

Aside from that, since Lioele Malaysia is having it's grand opening sales, I dropped by because of the 10% discount as well as freebies!

They gave away freebies worth RM88 with every purchase of RM100. LOLX!

Best of all, these freebies come with really cute and pink carry-around cardbox - I am a sucker for cute and illogical packaging!

I bought a concealer and also shimmer base. The lip pencil belongs to stupid sister. At present time, I am hooked to my Revlon Lip Butters so, other lip products may have to wait a bit.

Wanna take a peek what is inside the cute freebies' box?

Here you go!

In total, I've spent more than RM600 to get these products and I've yet to get any decent eyeshadows or primers. I guess I would have been a dead cow by the end of this month because my current skin care products are going to be used up in half month or so and FML, where the hell am I gonna find so much moo-lah to buy new stuffs?
