My 2015

Happy New Year 2016!

Honestly, I think everyone of us has gone through a series of events, be it fortunate or unfortunate, throughout the year 2015. One thing I know for sure, 2015 has somehow impacted me in quite a number of ways. I know I am quite a bit late in posting my recap of the year 2015 but here goes.

January 2015
There wasn't much going on in January since I was pretty occupied with work. I was rushing in between several different faculties and at the same time, I was busy marking final examination papers for my foundation and degree students.  I wanted to spend some time to get to know more people but I couldn't - I was tied down by commitment at work.

I practically had no life. Then, I couldn't take it anymore, I decided to resign due to several issues. I tendered my resignation on the 8th of January.

A part of me felt so relieved because I know I just had to hold on for 3 more months until my resignation takes effect.

February 2015
It's Lunar New Year month! It was the long-awaited holidays for me because I was terribly in need of a break. I was so stressed out from seeing faces I dislike in my previous organization and on top of that, the stress from work was slowly killing me from the inside.

I looked forward to the Lunar New Year because I knew it would be the last New Year celebrated with my students. I was pretty adamant that after 2015, none of them would be coming to my place anymore but well, that's another story for another day.

March 2015
My life started to slow down as March approached. Hence, I went and got my right wisdom tooth removed since it was causing me so much pain. After the surgery, I rested at home for the entire week as I waited for April to come.

After being back at my hometown for quite some time, finally, I had the chance to visit Belawai Beach.

April 2015
On the 7th of this month, I ended my service with my previous organization and honestly, I couldn't be happier. It was the best decision I have made and leaving the God forsaken hellhole made me realized a lot of things.

During this month also, my friends, family and students gathered and surprised me with the biggest birthday celebration I have ever had in my entire life!

I couldn't express my heartfelt gratitude to these bunch of wonderful people for giving me a lasting impression right before I leave my hometown for good.

In the mid of April, finally, I left my hometown for good because of three reasons:

1. I do not want to stay in the God forsaken hellhole.
2. I want to pursue one of my dreams.
3. I want to prove to some idiots that owning PhDs doesn't make you smart.

May 2015
I finally settled down in KL and met up with some of my degree classmates to reminisce those good old days at UTAR.

I fell sick. First it was just a mild sore-throat, then it was followed by a bad case of flu.

June 2015
I got even sicker than last month to point that my right ear was blocked due to the flu. I was almost bedridden for half of June. I thought I am invincible but it appeared I am not, thus, I went and saw two doctors.

During this point of time, a lot of unfortunate events took place and these events broke my heart.

July 2015
One of my favourite uncles passed on after battling lung cancer for quite some time. I was heartbroken to know that I wasn't able to make it to his funeral.

August 2015
This month should be the month I looked forward to in 2015. I had been anticipating for our Taiwan trip since late 2014 and finally it happened!

I went to Taiwan and totally enjoyed myself there! I'm not sure whether I should be saying this but I experienced typhoon for the very first time in my life in Taipei during my visit there.

One of the best things that happened in my life in 2015 - Mr. BF and I officially started dating.

I couldn't thank God enough for opening my eyes and mind to realize he's the one who has always been there for me.

September 2015
Friends came and visit me in KL during this month and we visited Genting Highland as well as Malacca.

October 2015
My journey as a postgraduate student started this month. Finally, after working for 2 years, I have decided to go back to studying.

I battled uncertainties for quite some time before deciding I wanted to continue my postgraduate studies and finally, I made up my mind to go for it.

Life is too short to be wasted.

November 2015
The highlight of the year would be my visit to Seoul, Korea.

For the longest time, I have had the thought of visiting Korea but due to certain issues, I wasn't able to do so. Right after tendering my resignation in January, I bought air tickets to Korea and I couldn't be happier.

December 2015
Hey, December is forever my favourite month of the year!

It's Christmas month and the month of celebration!

Things were a bit different in 2015.

For the longest time, I had been spending Christmas alone but this year, God sent me Mr. BF and we spent the entire week, doing Chrimassy stuffs together.

Christmas in KL was beautiful with him :)

MIA redefined and my Christmas

First of all, Happy New Year 2012 to all you wonderful people out there!

I am so sorry that the greetings come late.

No, I am not dead and I am very much alive and kicking.

It's only that I was away for the past few days and couldn't get internet to update this blog, hence, it explains why I've been away!

Yeah, I've spent my wonderful New Year of 2012 at Singapore!

I will update on my trip later because I am trying to rush to finish what I've started - thesis! I'll write a section on how to plan for a budget trip to Singapore and this especially applies if you're from a country like Malaysia and the conversion rate is SGD$1 to RM2.445 or something like that.

Anyway, that's for another day.

Christmas was okay, nothing special because stupid sister and I spent it in the church. Yeah, now, I should ditch the Christmas clock at my sidebar already because FML, I didn't meet up with Joel in Singapore and I was a little devastated over the whole issue. Well, it doesn't matter now.

Best of all, I got the best Christmas present from my brother this year and guess what's inside this paper bag?

You are right, it is from MAC Cosmetics!

LOLX!

I couldn't believe it when I took my present out, I was half expecting my brother to have bought the new Glitter and Ice eyeshadow palette. To be honest, I don't quite fancy that collection because well... they look kinda cheap.

OMG!!!

It's one of the items from my wishlist - MAC 109 Brush!!!

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!

I swear, I went breathless for a while... I checked out the price for this brush at MAC outlet in Midvalley a year ago and was appalled by it's price - RM120-ish. Imagine having to pay RM120 for a brush... I changed my mind even though I do know that good brushes do wonder!

So... there I was... happy as a little lamb!!!

All of a sudden, I felt so touched because yeah... even though my brother and I quarreled a lot, he understands me quite well like what I want, what I like and I bet he checked out my blog before he bought this present!

Hahahahahaha... it's not a bad thing to own a blog after all...

The brush is so, so soft that you wouldn't even believe how soft it is... I shall talk about this brush in a separate entry.

Alright, I think I shall make an abrupt stop here because I am feeling so, so tired and sleepy and bah... no mood to blog.

Don't worry, more reviews coming up soon!

Happy New Year for once again and may this year be blessed for everyone!

Here's something to distract you from Monday blues!

Yes, distractions are good sometimes - not like it's all bad but hey, it's Monday! Hahaha!

Hahahahaha... So, cheer up, it's gonna be Tuesday in less than 24 hours - obviously!

Christmas is less than a month away, which means, it's a yay!!!

Christmas has forever been my favourite time of the year! Well, are you wondering why Chinese New Year isn't in my favourite list?

I hate the crowdedness of going places during CNY and I don't really fancy all the people gathering at my small place back at my hometown during CNY as well. Not to say I'm anti-social but I just don't really like it because some people tend to be SUPER gepo or busybody. I hate it when people ask me, "You're getting older, why not get yourself a boyfriend and begin to think of your future."

I mean if there's only one or two persons asking me that, then, it's okay but it does seem the older I get, the more unfavourable comments that I get especially from sarcastic relatives, "You shouldn't have studied too much, now you see, the higher your education is, the choosier you get. When you are choosier, it's harder for you to meet your Mr. Right."

Fuck it, I don't give a damn!

Phewww... for now, Imma gonna calm down for a while because first, yay again... Christmas is coming and it's gonna be lent season soon - so, I've gotta be a little bit more forgiving. LOLX! Secondly, I'm not gonna be back to my hometown for this coming CNY, hence, no more gepo relatives trying to score immature conversations with me.

Anyway, let's just look forward Christmas, shall we?
*Santa Claus is coming to town*

I've got myself some early Christmas presents, yippee!!!

So, now, I can haz crazily beautiful and fashionable covers for my beloved mobile! Next, Imma gonna get Hello Kitty Diary Case for my darling! Can't wait for it to reach me!

Oh, sorry... hahaha... I got distracted!

You all know how much I adore Christmas, hence... I will try to spend more time to visit shopping malls because well... I'm pretty much in love with the Christmas decorations and bah... even if it means I've to doll up to take beautiful pictures of myself *syok sendiri* hahahaha...

Last week, stupid sister and I went to Sunway Pyramid because it has been like forever since we last went there and we were quite amazed with the decorations but well... since we were hype over shopping there, we did not manage to take a lot of pictures.

~ Pictures are left unedited because I am NOT fake and I am lazy ~

It was amazingly beautiful, so, if you are camwhore freaks like me, head over to Sunway Pyramid already, okay?

Then, yesterday, due to our last minute decision to go to Midvalley, stupid sister and I didn't doll up because it wasn't in our plan to go there as my initial intention was to just go to Wangsa Maju to get few DVDs and it ended up my plan was spoiled because the intention to go to CociCoci was stronger than getting DVDs at Wangsa Maju. Hahahaha.

Here goes the pictures!

~ Edited the pictures to look more dreamy and Christmasy ~

Who said I am all about makeup and dresses? I do have my lazy days too in which, you'll see me in butt-naked face without foundation, powders, concealers or anything!

Saw a super nice Carlo Rino handbag going for RM150 but damn sakit hati wanna spend because...

*drums roll*

I have just gotten air-ticket to Singapore!

Now you can cry or laugh at pathetic me!

Hahahahaha... Sponsored trip - are you jealous yet?

Anyhoot, trip is sponsored but shopping is not, so... I still gotta save some ka-ching or moo-lah because I intend to shop there. Hahaha.

We're at the end of this entry on a Monday morning, hence, peeps, have a wonderful week ahead and just ignore the Monday blues. I'm sure it'll be a great day for everyone after all!

It's time for wishes!

Yay, I am already dreaming of a white Christmas, a Christmas full of gifts and loves and well... blessings, of course!

If Christmas is coming, that means it's time for my wishlist, be it realistic or not, I still have my rights to dream of a white Christmas, right?

Ya, right, Malaysia doesn't snow so, now, we use bubbles or stuffs like that to create the snowing effect. Craps!

Anyway... I guess my ultimate wishes for Christmas this year are...

  1. Finish my thesis and graduate - I am halfway there, baby!

  2. Lose 10kg and maintain my weight - I gained 6kg over 4 months of working and that was a total shit!!! My dresses and skirts felt tight and FML that I am spending my time trying to lose weight after I resigned and miraculously, I dropped 2.5kg after that.

  3. My parents would be as healthy and fit as fiddles - so that they can visit us more often and of course to travel with us!

  4. Get a job that I love so that I will be happy - but if it's a job that I don't like but the pay is like, kaaaa-chiiing, I don't mind. If it's not, tell the boss to scram and hide his or her butt 6 feet underground!

  5. God, please hear my prayers - I need love and Your guidance in finding it!

Okay, those are pretty much realistic wishlist of mine. I don't want to be greedy but if I do feel greedy, my wishlist will go up to 30 or 40 or maybe 50 wishes. Ah... perhaps just one wish for 1000 wishes coming true, sounds good, aye?

Now, here comes the unrealistic but workable wishlist of mine. LOLX!

  1. The Royal Collection Palette from Tarte Cosmetics

I fell in love with the packaging at the first moment that I saw it but uh-well... even if I have the money to get it, I hate waiting for the product to be delivered from US to Malaysia and I bet by the time it gets to me, FML, I'll be cursing for the ruined and broken eyeshadows - been there.

  2. NYX Box of Smokey Eyes Collection

Isn't it gorgeous? I mean, look at it... Hahaha... This palette will be perfect for my freelance jobs because normally I get requests to do makeup for the bride's maids as well as the sisters. In most of the weddings I've been too, a lot of my clients asked for neutral or smokey eyes, so... one palette fits all!

  3. NYX Haute Jersey Couture

I love the leopard-inspired packaging of this palette. Was supposed to get this palette initially but it ran out of stock so... now, is there any kind soul out there who would bring me one of these?

  4. NYX Soft Matte Lipstick in Shocking Pink

Imma not greedy, yeah, I am not, I only want one shade from this collection and that's shocking pink because I can't find any similar shade that's affordable yet so... please, please Santa, please bring me just Shocking Pink!

  5. NYX Black Label Lipstick in Bling

Again, I'd like to emphasize that Imma not greedy. I want one of the shade from this collection too and that's Bling! LOLX! Not greedy, not greedy, not greedy!

  6. NYX HD Grinding Blush

If you know me, you'll know I am anal about blushes! If you don't know yet, now, you'll know because I collect different blushes too! So, I'm kinda greedy now because I want two shades from this collection -English Rose and Ménage à Trois.

  7. Naked 2 by Urban Decay

I know I have the original version of Naked but you know, for me, it's like collection! I love my original Naked palette and I don't mind getting the second version even though I don't really fancy the black eyeshadow in it. T

  8. 15th Anniversary Palette by Urban Decay

I know there are reviews out there saying that the eyeshadows in this palette don't come in variety but for a person like me who isn't very adventurous, these are more than enough! Plus, I love UD, so, what can I say?

  9. Benefit Porefessional

What can I say? I tested and tried this product - it actually worked very well on me because I get compliments from Mr. Tham of my complexion when I went out on a date with him after the makeover at benefit. LOLX! RM120 for just a tube - I'll go pokai soon! So, present, please!

  10. MAC Brushes - 219 and 109

I have been dying to get these two brushes from MAC but due to strict budget, I ended up never getting any because I always trust there are inexpensive alternatives out there but so far, nah... those inexpensive alternatives don't work for me and yes, these two brushes are in my wishlist since ages ago!

There you go... Hahahaha... Unrealistic but workable wishlist. I wish I can still have 10 more slots in my wishlist but I'll stop here just in case you all think I am such a b*tch for wanting so many things!

So, what are you wishes for this year?

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Dear Santa...

Yes, I can tell you everything... There have been so many things on my wishlist just like the years before this year.

Perhaps...

Or maybe I'm not... Hahahaha... I have been a REAL good girl!

So, can I be excluded from the naughty list if I were to tell you that I have not been so greedy this year - honest!

Hence, I have a wish... erm... three wishes maybe?

First of all, a medicine that can help me to lose another 20 pounds so that I can be as slim as every other girl out there.

Second of all, I'd really appreciate it if I could get either of this.

~ Tarte - The Jewelry Box ~

~ Tarte - The Royal Collection ~

If I am allowed to choose, I really, really, really and a thousand times really want The Jewelry Box from Tarte Cosmetics. I have a love-hate relationship with jewelry, hence it explains why I want it so much!

Finally... I also want a special wish!

A WISH THAT EVERYTHING I WISH WILL COME TRUE!

Hence, I'm so confirmed with Santa's decision that he'll give something to me!

Congratulations, Angel - you're definitely going to be on the top of Santa's Naughty List.

Merry Cheery Christmas

What should I say?

Yeah, it's Christmas - instead of hanging out with friends at gatherings, here I am, staying at home, yes alone! This year's Christmas is freaking sad lor... Previous years, Christmas has always been celebrated with family.

But comparing to those celebrating Christmas alone, I should be really grateful that Alice, Jeff and Lydia were there to celebrate this day with me. Thank you for making this Christmas better than what I've expected, guys! Pictures will be up soon, I promise!

Don't worry, I'm not here to spoil your Christmas mood. As promised, Imma going to share with you all some pictures taken during the Starbucks' Cheer Party last Friday. Yes, we did have an unexpected guest but I'll leave that out until the end of the entry.

Since Santa Bam was too busy distributing candies, lollipops and chocolates to everyone, I hastily dragged him over to take a picture with us. Of course I wanted a picture with Santa, it was Christmas, alright? Haha... Too bad Santa Rina wasn't around because she went to the washroom - I think.

~ I can't remember his name, Tajul, Amat, Bee, yours truly, Santa Bam & Ras ~

It was then, the madness began when these people began to camwhore away with my camera in every possible pose! You have to believe me that these bunch of people are really fun to be with because they have the craziest idea of all for fun!

Amat was giving free coffee to everyone and before he started to do so, he kept on gesturing me to take a picture of him, trying to steal the thing he was carrying. Tajul on the other hand, saw I was taking a picture of Amat, quickly ran into the store to get a paper cup to pose with Amat.

Haha... Click on the picture if you can't see it clearly but don't say I didn't warn you earlier though. Haha... That was a case of wanting to be angel and Santa so much that Ras became Angel Claus!

Okay, since I'm going to end this entry soon - lemme present to you, our mysterious guest of the day - Bernard. Haha... No? Not mysterious? Haha...

Well, not so mysterious but unexpected! Bernard, if you happen to read this, thanks for showing up and yeah, I know you didn't get to eat the nice food and I didn't either but still, it was great to have you there!

Merry Christmas everybody!
