BB cream collection

You know what?

I think blogspot is BITCHY!

I kept on trying to get the pictures in the correct orientation but blogspot memang MCB! It kept on auto-orientate my pictures and I couldn't even do anything about it! FML! I have intention to move my blog elsewhere already - any better suggestions besides xanga or wordpress?

Anyway, I shall do a research later.

I'm gonna share with ya'll my BB cream collection!

You know, back then, when BB cream first became famous in Malaysia, I went hype over it too. I even told my brother about it and he went, "What does BB cream stand for?" I told him it stands for blemish balm or beblesh balm. My sarcastic brother then replied, "Oh, I thought it stands for big breast cream - the cream you apply and then, your breasts will become bigger."

Yeah, right!

Anyway, after some time, I have decided not to tag along with the hype because my first BB cream was from Skin79 and I still have it because the shade is just too light on me and it gives the ghastly white effect.

No likey...

Then, I ditched the whole idea of purchasing BB creams for quite some time because I was hooked to my Stage Picture Perfect Foundation. I still am using this foundation if you are wondering.

Alright, let's talk BB cream language, shall we?

Okay, first product - Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus.

Do you remember me blogging that I don't really like it? Yes, I still don't like it even though when I first started using it, I was like, "Uh, it's an okay product."

I love the packaging of this BB cream because it's GOLD and yes, baby, I totally dig GOLD because I am materialistic.

Another thing that I adore about this product is because of this...

A beautiful rosy cream blush!

Yes, you didn't see wrongly - it comes with a cream blush, very subtle pinkish rosy blush!

However, there's one thing I don't like - the pump... It's messy!

On the whole, I don't think I will be re-purchasing this BB cream because I've decided to give up on it due to the lousy effect it has on me - gave this to stupid sister because she is obviously fairer than I am.

Price - I got it for RM80 inclusive of poslaju - well, don't think it's worth the money. There are definitely BB creams with better formula out there.

The second BB cream in my possession is Etude House Collagen Moistfull BB Balm.

Err... I have yet to start using this since I purchased it early this year... The reason why I bought it was because Etude House was having sales and instead of RM69.90 originally, I got this for RM49.90 only.

I am not sure how this product performs but we're gonna find out real soon, I promise!

It basically looks like the above picture... nothing spectacular about the packaging but I totally appreciate it that although there's one sponge included for the application, still, Etude House is kinda enough to include another free sponge in the product itself.

My third BB cream is from Etude House as well - Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream.

I guess quite a number of people raved about this product in the past. I heard from my students just few years back that this BB cream did wonder to their skin and they loved the effect. Back then, I wasn't so exposed to Etude House or anything, hence, I didn't bother to check it out too.

This BB cream is supposed to give sheer glowy effect if you'd notice. I am not sure how this thing performs because, it's still new.

I know, I have quite a lot of BB creams in my collection - I won't be opening a new one unless I am done with the current one. So, I guess I will start with the Moistfull BB cream first for now. This will come later.

This BB cream is retails at RM69.90 only. Well, this certainly is not the most expensive BB cream because I have seen BB creams from Lioele and Tony Moly that retail for around RM89.90 to RM120 or something like that. I got this for half of the price because, it was time of the promotion where you buy one, you'll get one free.

Last but not least - Hanskin Caviar Gold BB Cream.

I am not sure if you can find the review of this BB cream online or not because I have tried and the results of the searches all directed me to the tube form of this product but hey, this BB cream of mine doesn't come in tube form... it basically looks like this...

Bottle with pump!

There are differences between this packaging and the packaging in tube. The most obvious difference is that this BB cream that I own has SPF25++ whereas the tube form only comes with SPF21++ hence, you have to figure out where to google for it.

I am not sure where you can get this product because mine was given to me by my ex-boss. She went to Korea for a five-day trip and came back with this BB cream for me.

Not sure about the price too.

However, I was at CociCoci last week and although they don't have this particular product, they still have other range of Hanskin BB creams. Their prices? I think it's around RM89.90 to RM129.90 probably.

So, those are all the BB creams that I have now.

Which one should I start using first?

Battle of BB Creams from Skin79

BB Creams can mean a lot of things - blemish balm, beblesh balm but for certain people like my brother who's a little bengkok to the hamsap side, he interpreted it as BIG BREAST BALM. Now, you can laugh all you can because according to him, when you use BB Creams, your breasts will appear larger, in which, lemme tell you, my good ol' brother craps a lot sometimes - you should never listen to him!

I guess BB Creams need no further introduction since they're getting more popular, especially in Asian countries. But with the recent hype that BB Creams can improve pigmentation and also wrinkles, BB Creams have penetrated into western countries as well - well, that's something different, Asian cosmetics are getting more popular!

Honestly, I am not a big fan of BB Creams since there isn't one BB Cream in the market that suits my skin tone. Furthermore, most of the times, if I use BB Cream, it tends to oxidize faster than anything else I've applied on my face. At the end of the day, I always end up looking grey in instead of glowy.

I was skeptical about Skin79's Hot Pink BB Cream lately but luckily for me I have yet to purchase because I'm still with my Heynature BB Cream. I'll do a review later.

The other day, when I was at Watson at Pavilion, I was surprised to see Skin79 has finally became a drugstore brand.

Since I've always wanted to try out their BB Creams, I'm so glad that testers are provided for each different BB Creams.

Hence, I tested out the four famous BB Creams from Skin79 the other day when I was at Watson.

Not much comment on the texture since I haven't been exposed to a lot of BB Creams all my makeup life. LOLX! I'm really anally crazy, you see... I brought my makeup remover and tried the BB Creams right on the spot - since I don't intend to get any new BB Creams yet. These BB Creams feel light on my skin, in which, I guess, you'll only need a thin layer but coverage is like... a little below average but you can't slap on too much product or else, you'll end up looking like a clown!

I will try to describe each of the BB Cream, so, please bear with me if I can't do it perfectly since I did not buy each of them.

Skin79 Hot Pink

On the whole, this BB Cream is said to suit those with oily skin. I'm not sure since I'm quite skeptical about this one - wrinkle improvement? Perhaps, perhaps! The colour is slightly lighter than the gold version - it doesn't really suit my skin tone, yes, again!
Skin79 Gold

I like this one if I were to compare to the other versions. The colour matches my skin tone quite well, of course before oxidation. I wore this one for the whole day and yes, indeed, it oxidized but not to the extent of turning grey. Hence, me likey! Gonna put it in my wishlist real soon!

Skin79 Total Absolute

Again, this BB Cream comes out quite light and I think if I slap this onto my skin, for sure I'll end up looking like a snowgirl. Gosh! If you are searching for BB Creams with pink undertone, well, this could be the right one for you!

Skin79 The Prestige

The Prestige comes out real light as Total Absolute too but the only difference is that it has yellow undertone which suits most of Asians skintones.

Well, that's it for BB Creams from Skin79. Lemme know how these BB Creams perform on your skin. I'll be glad since I need help in choosing the right BB Cream for my oily and pale skintone.

Do have a great day, people!

Be safe and healthy!

My take for BB Cream

Remember when I blogged about how much I rave and rave for Skin79's The Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus? Then, it was followed by the haul? Hahahaha... If you don't remember, this is the BB Cream that I've gotten...

Honestly, this BB Cream packaging is gorgeous, so, so gorgeous and I love anything that's gold! Hahaha... I'm a very realistic and materialistic person.

Lemme tell you a little bit about this BB Cream...

Well, it is printed on the label that this BB Cream is suitable with those with dry to combination skin and also those with wrinkles, still, if you're someone like me, who periodically like dewy finishing and also somebody who has oily and combination skin - you can still get this one! It doesn't feel sticky at all especially after you apply your loose powder after the BB Cream.

The texture isn't very watery or overly creamy - it's just nice.

Notice the differences between the applied and also unapplied spots? I know I looked like a goddamn freak but who cares, right?

So... I waited a bit...

Can you see the BB Cream had begin to set in with my complexion? Well... this isn't so bad, all you've gotta do is just to wait patiently!

Hooray to dewy finishing!

Stage Cosmetics Haul

Craps! I've been neglecting my blog again! Hahaha... For a week or so, I guess - just got back from my trip to Kuching.

Anyway, Imma gonna share with you what I've gotten from my trip.

If you haven't heard of Stage Cosmetics, then, it's high time you go and do a little research on it now. It's truly a surprise that Stage Cosmetics offers affordable prices for their products and from time to time, they'll be having 20% discount store-wide as well as buy one free one offers!

I love sales so, so much and till death do us part. Hahaha... I exaggerate a bit. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter too. Hahaha...

Let's see what I've gotten from Stage Cosmetics.

~ Photo Finish Dusting Powder ~

Basically, this dusting powder is just like the normal loose powder with the same usage - to lock on our foundation so that it'll stay longer on the face.

Next up is the most wanted and lasting eyeliner pencil!

~ Eyeliner Pencil ~

I've gotten 2 of them in Backstage Black and West End White! I tell you, the staying power of these eyeliners on the waterline is AMAZING! Simply amazing! I went to Stage's counter and tried it out of curiousity because initially I was aiming for Smashbox's eyeliner pencil. The eyeliner lasted on my waterline for the whole freaking day even with my rouge rubs on the eyes!

This is a MUST GET item from Stage Cosmetics!

Then, lip items...

~ Wonderlust Lipstick ~

Tried this out at the counter and decided to love it too because it's moisturizing. I don't fancy overly moisturizing or chappy lipstick and the texture of this lipstick is just nice!

Oh yeah, you saw the lipglosses too, right? Those are presents for a friend!

Last but not least...

~ Picture Perfect Foundation ~

I wouldn't say I love this foundation yet because I have yet to try it out for the whole day but then again, they have 2 different foundations available. One is for medium coverage while the other one is for oily skin and full coverage. This is the medium-coverage foundation.

Heck... if I know I'll get this foundation, I wouldn't spend on getting The Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus earlier already T__T

But I don't regret getting this BB Cream too because I love the watery texture and yeah... less obvious wrinkles on my face! I know, I am getting older, so don't remind me of the wrinkles!

Another thing I love about this BB Cream is that it comes with lip and cheek stain. Darn... I love this thing! The pinkish stain looks so freaking nice and it compliments my cheeks and lips so well that I need not bring along my blushers and lipsticks when I have this with me!

Despite of it's price - argh... I still love this!

Then, my parcel from Aini finally came! Happy, happy... finally, I've gotten my long-awaited Physicians Formula's Shimmer Strips Gel Cream Liner!

I was super excited when I saw the swatches on few beauty-related blogs and decided, "I need that in my life!"

Hahahaha... super exaggerating but yeah, somebody sent these to me! Yay!

Look how adorable they are! I mean, like how many times in your life are you able to come across super pigmented gel liners? If you don't believe me, go and google it up! You can shoot me if you've found out I'm lying.

I mean, like seriously, 3 different pigmented shades of eyeliners for USD$11? That is basically around RM35and around RM11.70 per colour. Even drugstore brands like Maybelline or L'Oreal do not offer 3 different colours of eyeliners for RM435!

Well... I don't want to swatch these babies just yet since I have some remaining gel liners to finish up. Hence, there'd be no swatches at the mean time.

The only downside of this is that... I expected it to come in bigger jars. I didn't expect how mini these babies were.

There you go, the comparison of the size of the gel liners to my camera - quite dissapointing, right? Nevertheless, these will probably last me for quite some time!

Anyway, that's the end of my cosmetic haul - lemme present to you, my cute, cute niece in my red dress!

How can you not love her?

Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus

I hate this feeling.

Especially when I have certain ravings for certain things.

Furthermore, especially if you've gotta spend certain amount of moo-lah to get it too. As of now, lemme tell you a story about BB Creams.

Lately, I have been raving about Skin79's BB Creams and it is crazily maddening, okay?! If you don't know what Skin79 is, go and google it up somewhere. I bet you'll come across these pictures below.

Skin79 is infamous for their BB Creams. I remember there was a roadshow several years back at Jusco, Midvalley to promote this BB Cream and the introductory price was at freaking RM169. Geez... who would spend RM169 on a bottle of BB Cream? Then, on that particular day, they were having this 50% discount or something like that and these babies were sold at RM89.90 but still, I didn't get it since it was hella expensive!

Few years later, another friend introduced me to Skin79 Hot Pink Super BB Cream and said that her complexion has gotten so much better after using this for a period of time. I was too hesitant to try this one out because the reviews weren't so good. I always expect my BB Creams to be on medium to full coverage but from what I've heard, this one does nothing to the complexion.

Then, I was introduced to their slightly newer versions of BB Creams.

The packaging of these two BB Creams are simply beautiful beyond words. I mean, I for example, would pay for packaging on several occasions. I know, I waste a lot of moo-lah but what to do?

Reviews? Erm... Didn't get a lot of good reviews too.

Since half year ago, I've been eyeing Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB Cream but I gave up on the thought of getting one since I thought BB Cream sucks on me especially after my encounter with BB Cream from Shills - it made me looked ghostly pale.

This BB Cream comes with attached lip and cheek stain, which means I won't need to bring along my blushers, lip sticks and glosses everywhere I go - all I need is this bottle of BB Cream!

Eki is using the exact BB Cream and her review on this was really good back then so, I was tempted to get this one but it was hard to get this baby in Malaysia.

After so much hardwork, I finally found there are forumers in LYN that are selling different types of BB Creams from Skin79 ranging from RM40 to RM70. The Oriental Gold BB Cream is sold at around RM60 to RM65, which is, a little to the pricey side.

Hence, when I almost gave up on trying to get my hands on this baby, I found out, this year, as in 2010, Skin79 released a newer version of The Oriental Gold BB Cream and named it The Oriental Gold BB Cream PLUS. The packaging is in GOLD - one of my favourite colours!

When I saw this baby, I jumped in joy because I was telling myself, "I have to get this! I have to get this by hook or by crook!"

Please don't hate me because you can easily get this baby at LYN too! With triple the goodness of The Oriental Gold BB Cream, this baby sure gives you more promises than ever!

Well, this baby is on it's way to me and guess what? I will review it when I've gotten it next week! Muahahahahaha...

*laughter of victory*

Oh, by the way - I really wanna get the FULL collection of this line from Skin79!

So, who want to sponsor me?
