Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liners

Hi, everyone!

Finally, I get to sit down to do a backdated entry.... I haven't been too busy but it's just procrastination, I guess. Anyway, if you haven't read my brief entry on Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel Cream Liners for Hazel Eyes, you can click here.

Oh, wow, that is one long name for the product. If you are wondering what are they... they are gel eyeliners. Yes, gel eyeliners that are custom-made to enhance the natural colour of your eyes.

I didn't review or discuss much about the product because I hadn't been using them long enough to comment but sad news, it was stolen, so I never got around raving about this product.

This time around, I got a surprise gift from Jo when the postman delivered the parcel. It was few months ago and when I opened it, I was screaming in ecstasy, like literally. I kept on asking myself, "Is this for real, is this for real?"

One thing I have to be honest about this gel eyeliner - I really did enjoy using it every other day before it was stolen because the formula for the gel eyeliner is so, so amazing that you wouldn't believe you did not know about the product earlier! I told Jo about it and it such a pleasant surprise I got this coming in the mail for me. I couldn't express my heartfelt gratitude to Jo for sending this to me!

Like I have mentioned earlier, these are gel eyeliners that are custom-made to enhance the natural colours of our eyes and I believe they have in several different shades like for brown, blue, hazel, green and other eye colours. Best of all, it comes with three shades of eyeliners in one. Awesome, right?

I guess personally, you'll be killing three birds with one stone with a single purchase. Oh, well... that is just so me!

A bonus - the packaging of the eyeliners comes with a step-by-step application for each colour.

Better still, if you are just starting out with gel eyeliners and you don't really feel like purchasing a brush to go with the liners, fret not because these babies come with a free application brush.

I do realize there are some who do not like the brush at all but personally, I'd say the brush is awesome. It makes application so easy and it does not scratch at all. I wouldn't say I am lucky to get a good brushes in the packaging-s because this is my second set and I love both brushes because they work amazingly!

The set that Jo sent me was custom-made for blue eyes but it doesn't really matter because I think everyone can pull off different colours of eyeliners depending on how they use it. Regarding the shades, if you are interested, for every eye colour that the gel eyeliners are made for, you will find specks and shimmers of the respective colours in the gel eyeliner. Erm... this might be confusing but lemme try to make it easier to understand.

Blue eye - black, brown and blue eyeliners with blue specks.
Hazel eye - black, brown and plum eyeliners with purple specks.
Green eye - black, brown and green eyeliners with green specks.

I think the picture below will show a little bit of the blue shimmers in the gel eyeliners. You don't really have to worry because the shimmers are very minimal that they are barely noticeable. Well, in another word, the shimmers are not overwhelming.

Please bear in mind that this is only two-time application on the back of my hand and they might not seem to be the most pigmented but believe me that for the price of USD$10 to USD$12, you get three eyeliners of different colours and best of all, they are so creamy and the three shades glide like magic! Well, certainly no complain on that but I do have an issue with the blue gel liner of not being able to show up like the black and brown eyeliners though.

I like the fact that these eyeliners can be applied to my waterline and they can be used for tightlining as well. It have pretty sensitive eyes and fortunately, these eyeliners do not irritate my eyes at all.

Drawing a cat-eye with these gel eyeliners is really easy. Furthermore, remember the step-to-step instruction? Yeah, that does help!

No matter how good the product is, however, I do have a slight complain. It is waterproof and it is quite difficult to remove because once the eyeliner set, that is how it will look for the rest of the day! My complain is that if you're thinking of tightlining or using the eyeliner on your waterline, think twice!

That was what happened after about 3 hours!

These eyeliners smudge on the waterline!

I really was hoping it would stay there as it would be staying when I applied it on my eyelids but somehow, it did not last. I guess no matter how waterproof it is, these eyeliners are not meant for the waterline or tightlining.

Oh, well... nothing much to complain because all in all, I still enjoy using them and yes, I will still keep on purchasing them as long as Physicians Formula still produce them!

Battle of Eyeliners

I've been contemplating to post this entry for quite some time already. Yeah, I'm a procrastinator and the thief of time, hence it explains why this entry has never been posted for like... hmmm... 2 months?

Anyway... again, I'm anal about blushers but I hate it when my eyeliners smudges and transfer themselves onto my lower lids. In worse case of transference, I end up looking like a sleep-deprived person or better known as panda-eye effect.

I hate it when I'm not aware that these liners came off - uh... isn't that annoying?

By the way, I love my hair today, it looks so straight and nice, don't you think so too? LOLX! I didn't straighten or anything, just brush through my hair and let it air-dried before putting on some serum from d' Hair Shop.

~ Look, it's me with my NAKED face! ~

If you don't know yet, I love hair care products from d' Hair Shop but alas, d' Hair Shop is only available for purchase if you're staying somewhere nearby KL since the outlets are only available at Pavilion and also Midvalley.

Okay, enough of hair ramblings!

We're going into the highlight of today - eyeliners!

As the matter of fact, I collect eyeliners as much as I collect blushers. Hahaha... anal, anal, anal, anal about eyeliners too!

So, lemme just go through the eyeliners one by one and what are my thoughts regarding the products.

Solone Magic Waterproof Eye Pencil

Solone is not a very well-known brand, I'd say. I came across a forumer in LYN selling this and my initial thought was, "Gosh, these pencils look promising!" Further more, it's stated that they're waterproof!

I had these since 2 weeks ago and been using them on everyday basis just to try out their claimed waterproof-ity and smudgeproof-ity. LOLX!

Basically, the picture you're seeing below, on the left, there are swatches of the shades I own while on your right, that will be what happened after I rubbed and rubbed them really hard.

It smeared off a bit after being rubbed and honestly, I don't think this is a bad eyeliner. I did not try rubbing under running water because honestly, hey, how often do you cry having eyeliner on? Of course, exception if you boyfriend proposes to you and stuffs like that?

The black eyeliner seems more solid and long-lasting if being compared to purple eyeliner. You've gotta decide on your own from the picture above.

One thing that really disturbs me is that this eyeliner CANNOT be applied onto your waterline because, it just wouldn't go on no matter how hard I tried!

I guess waterproof-ity for this eyeliner is totally a fail!

Total score - 3 out of 5 stars!

Stila Kajal Eye Liner

Okay, Stila Kajal Eye Liner is a very much sought after products for youtube gurus. I thought it'd perform amazingly on me as well but alas, this eyeliner is my least favourite if compared to others.

It smudges like no tomorrow. This is worse than UD 24/7 and I always end up looking like a dead panda! FML! I hate this eyeliner!

Luckily I didn't get it in full size or else Imma gonna regret full-time, having to spend so much on a product that doesn't work on me! As for pigmentation, this is heavenly because it's so pigmented that you cannot imagine how pigmented it is!

Hey, I paid RM25 for the travel-sized product, okay? It's NOT cheap considering it's only a mini version!

The tip is so soft that it becomes very, very annoying because you can't get precise line with this product. Further more, right after lining your eyes, this product gets a little clumpy and start falling on my cheeks. Then, when I try to blur out the edges, it sticks to my fingers like EVERYTIME!!!

I've had enough of this eyeliner and WILL NEVER purchase it again ever!

Total score - 1 out of 5 - horrible!

Physicians Formula Gel Liner

I'm too lazy to type the full name of this product as the name alone is too long! You should google it up if you're interested.

This is my first gel liner. I was hooked to it ever since I got it because it does glide on smoothly for a gel liner and it doesn't get clumpy too. The brush is easy to use and I love it! The colours are hella pigmented. If you don't believe me, try googling it up somewhere, you'll love the colours!

Exception for the brown liner, black and purple are the most solid colours. They only wear off a little upon rough rubbing and so. I did try rubbing them under running water. It smudges a little but not much.

If you're thinking of applying this on your waterline, yeah, it works pretty well on my waterline - minimal smudging!

Total score - 4 out of 5 stars - go and get this now!

Kate Super Sharp Liner

This is seriously my best liquid eyeliner ever, ever, ever and I swear, I will never doubt it or change to another liquid eyeliner!

Hey, this is good stuff, hence, I should share with you all!

The tip of the brush is super sharp, hence, it explains why I can always get the line as precise as I want it to be. You can never be wrong with precise lines! You get FULL control of the lines you're about to create, now how good can it get?

The lasting power is SUPER impressive, okay?!

I applied it in the morning during CNY and when I was removing it around 10pm or so, it still sat still! No smudges or anything! Even water CANNOT remove this eyeliner. You've to use oil-based makeup remover!

How can you not love a splendid product this this eyeliner?

Total score - 5 out of 5 - go and get this already!

ELF Shimmer Pencil

I was very skeptical about purchasing this product initially but I bought four of them in the end to test out.

I can't say I'm in love with them but they have their strengths and weaknesses.

The things I don't like about these liners are that they're NOT smudge or water proof. But at least they're not as messy as Stila Kajal Eyeliner. Then again, I don't fancy the packaging. ELF should have included a fully-covered cap instead their current packaging. The product will get dried out very fast with their current packaging!

Me don't likey!

You can't use these liners on your waterline but you can always use them on your lower lashline, right? You can't do it with Stila Kajal Eyeliner because it'll get really, really messy that you might as well remove your whole makeup!

The liner glides on REALLY SMOOTHLY and it's very, very pigmented!

Total score - 2 out of 5!

Stage Eye Liner

I tried Stage's eyeliner on my waterline, without hoping it'd last so long. I went to Stage Cosmetics and applied it on my waterline to test it out around 12pm and when I got home around 8 hours later, to my horrific happiness, it was still there!

So, the next day, I rushed to Stage as soon as the outlet was opened and bought 2 of these!

They're not exactly smudge proof but they're waterproof, alright? This is byfar my best pencil eyeliner! I'm super in love with their eyeliners that I told stupid sister about it. Thus, she ended up purchasing 3 of them!

Total score - 4.5 out 5 - go and get it now!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

Well... as much as this product has created hypes in youtube and also the beauty communities across the world, I'm not really in love with it. Remember, I'm anal about eyeliners too, okay?

This might not be UD's best product but UD does have another best products like UDPP and their eyeshadows.

Yes, you can apply this product on your waterline but it doesn't stay put for more than an hour or so for me. Hence, it gets annoying even though it doesn't transfer to my lower lids or anything. But still, it's way better than Stila Kajal Eyeliner. Sorry, Stila, me don't love your Kajal Eyeliner.

Total score - 3.5 out of 5!

That marks the end of my eyeliners' story. If you were to ask me to make a list of which eyeliners to get, I'll only choose 3 from each category - liquid, pencil and gel.
  1. Kate Super Sharp Liquid Eyeliner - probably around RM39.90
  2. Stage Pencil Eyeliner - RM45
  3. Physicians Formula Gel Liner - RM35 or USD$10.99
So, what are your favourite eyeliners?

Oh, oh, oh... since I'm very much in love with Stage Pencil Eyeliners, I grabbed the opportunity to purchase their lip liners too!

I don't know about you but these are pure loves! I applied this as base for my lipsticks and lipglosses and after jumping around, eating, drinking and aherm, kissing the wall, the lip liner was still in tact!!!

Yeah, the lipsticks and lipglosses wore off but the lipliners were still there!

Isn't it amazing?

Hahahaha... I'm trying to promote Stage but don't worry, I don't get paid to review.

Anyway... here's the haul of the day at Watsons and Daiso.

I need to ban myself from shopping once again but... hey... shopping is a girl's best friend, especially if you've been down, like me, right?

Physicians Formula Beauty Story

If you'd ask me, I am insane because I so feel like doing shopping right now.

Yes, shopping no mistake but the thing is... I wanna do shopping at Ulta but sadly, there's no Ulta in Malaysia. Sadder still, nobody is doing Ulta spree now. Why, oh, why?

I'm so in love with Physicians Formula, especially after trying their loose powder and also gel liners. Muahahahaha... I love drugstore products.

So, I think, right now, I have a totally new wishlist coming up - I've gotta find a way to marry a millionaire or else, nobody is going to pay for my sprees. Hahahaha... Ah, just kidding, don't take it to heart because I am realistic but not materialistic. End of story.

Hence, I shall start off my story right now.

Once upon a time, there's an ugly girl... So, she thought to herself, "I need something to make myself prettier."

One day, as she was looking at her reflection in the mirror, she thought to herself again, "I need cosmetics but I can't afford to spend on high-end brands. Luckily there are drugstores to the rescue!"

She adored girls with blushing pink cheeks, hence, blusher is a MUST in her wishlist. Looking at the adorable PF's Powder Palette Multi-Colored Blush in Blushing Berry, she took out her notebook and wrote it down, "I want this!"

Then, she looked at the price - USD$12.49 and thought, "Geez... that is too expensive for a blush! If only I could find something cheaper!"

Not long later, she came across this - Organic Wear 2-in-1 Bronzer & Blush!

"I need a bronzer to define my features! This is perfect! A blush with bronzer!" she was happy again! Price? It's USD$13.95 but look out for discounts!

"Geez... I don't like my eyes... I need shimmers and colours to brighten them up or else I'll look like a zombie out of the coffin!" she said to herself.

"Perfect! PF's Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner for Pop Collection at USD$10.99 is just perfect but I want more than one!" she was greedy but at the same time, kind-hearted.

*blush, blush*

To intensify those eyeshadows, she would need eyeliners!

At USD$10.99 each, PF's Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiners are super worth it!

"Imma gonna get those!" again, she was greedy but down-to-earth.

"There is just one last thing to be done - mascaras!" she said, "I need PF's Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Mascara Duo is perfect!" Oh, yeah, it's USD$10.99 each!

She walked out of the drugstore...

Empty-handed.

She let out a long sigh, "I want a lot of things but I can't afford to buy all those for now. Perhaps, in near future, when I'm earning enough, I shall come back again."

End of story.

Hahahaha... are you all entertained yet?

I'm going out now, update soon!

Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner

Yippee!

I got these babies about 2 weeks back but have yet to try it until 3 days ago! The shade I have gotten is for Hazel Eyes.

I have been really, really occupied with lotsa things around me that I really had no time to test these eyeliners out! I still am busy because it's now a month I'm back at home and as for my thesis, I have not done anything!

Anyway, never mind, I shall start busying with my thesis next week, pray for me, people!

There you go, the swatches!

Descriptions of item:

  • Black - basic black-coloured gel eyeliner with purple shimmers in it.

  • Purple - plum-coloured gel eyeliner with silver shimmers in it.

  • Brown - basic brown coloured gel eyeliner with shilver shimmers in it.

  • Can you see the pigmentation of the gel eyeliners? Super pigmented, right, right? Those were just one swipe each and the colours already shown!

Lemme show you a picture of the liners on my eyes.

This look was printed on the packing, so, I just tagged along to try it. I love the shimmers in the gel liners. Pigmentation is another story - yes, I love liners with shimmers.

Another thing is - I got it for 20% off at RM33 only for 3 colours!

Yes, you're NOT seeing double because it means each colour costs only RM11! Yes, a freaking RM11 for one colour is mad insane, okay?! Even gel liners from Maybelline, Kate, L'Oreal or Revlon sold at Watsons or Guardian retail around RM30 to RM50.

    Go get it at Ulta!

My takes for Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Gel Creamliner

    Pros

  • Very pigmented - no joke!

  • Not overly shimmery.

  • Quite long-lasting - it lasted for 8 hours on my eyes without eyelid primer!

  • Cheap - it retails for USD$10.99 for 3 colours in one stack!

  • Easily carried along anywhere - especially when traveling.

  • Works equally good as base for eyeshadows!

  • Cons

  • Crappy brush attached - believe me, dump it!

  • Comes in a very mini size - I expected it to be a little bigger.

  • Not waterproof or smudge proof.

  • Price

    USD$10.99

    Will I buy it again?

Yes! I wanna get those for Green Eyes!

End of story for gel liners! Guess what? I can haz new hair style!

Yes, yes, yes, I went to my cousin's salon with my family and got my hair done there - since my previous hairstyle was pretty ugly.

Hahahahaha... Pictures to be updated in next entry - tata - gonna sleep now, need to go to church very early tomorrow morning!

    Stage Cosmetics Haul

Craps! I've been neglecting my blog again! Hahaha... For a week or so, I guess - just got back from my trip to Kuching.

Anyway, Imma gonna share with you what I've gotten from my trip.

If you haven't heard of Stage Cosmetics, then, it's high time you go and do a little research on it now. It's truly a surprise that Stage Cosmetics offers affordable prices for their products and from time to time, they'll be having 20% discount store-wide as well as buy one free one offers!

I love sales so, so much and till death do us part. Hahaha... I exaggerate a bit. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter too. Hahaha...

Let's see what I've gotten from Stage Cosmetics.

~ Photo Finish Dusting Powder ~

Basically, this dusting powder is just like the normal loose powder with the same usage - to lock on our foundation so that it'll stay longer on the face.

Next up is the most wanted and lasting eyeliner pencil!

    ~ Eyeliner Pencil ~

I've gotten 2 of them in Backstage Black and West End White! I tell you, the staying power of these eyeliners on the waterline is AMAZING! Simply amazing! I went to Stage's counter and tried it out of curiousity because initially I was aiming for Smashbox's eyeliner pencil. The eyeliner lasted on my waterline for the whole freaking day even with my rouge rubs on the eyes!

This is a MUST GET item from Stage Cosmetics!

    Then, lip items...

    ~ Wonderlust Lipstick ~

Tried this out at the counter and decided to love it too because it's moisturizing. I don't fancy overly moisturizing or chappy lipstick and the texture of this lipstick is just nice!

Oh yeah, you saw the lipglosses too, right? Those are presents for a friend!

    Last but not least...

    ~ Picture Perfect Foundation ~

I wouldn't say I love this foundation yet because I have yet to try it out for the whole day but then again, they have 2 different foundations available. One is for medium coverage while the other one is for oily skin and full coverage. This is the medium-coverage foundation.

Heck... if I know I'll get this foundation, I wouldn't spend on getting The Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus earlier already T__T

But I don't regret getting this BB Cream too because I love the watery texture and yeah... less obvious wrinkles on my face! I know, I am getting older, so don't remind me of the wrinkles!

Another thing I love about this BB Cream is that it comes with lip and cheek stain. Darn... I love this thing! The pinkish stain looks so freaking nice and it compliments my cheeks and lips so well that I need not bring along my blushers and lipsticks when I have this with me!

Despite of it's price - argh... I still love this!

Then, my parcel from Aini finally came! Happy, happy... finally, I've gotten my long-awaited Physicians Formula's Shimmer Strips Gel Cream Liner!

I was super excited when I saw the swatches on few beauty-related blogs and decided, "I need that in my life!"

Hahahaha... super exaggerating but yeah, somebody sent these to me! Yay!

Look how adorable they are! I mean, like how many times in your life are you able to come across super pigmented gel liners? If you don't believe me, go and google it up! You can shoot me if you've found out I'm lying.

I mean, like seriously, 3 different pigmented shades of eyeliners for USD$11? That is basically around RM35and around RM11.70 per colour. Even drugstore brands like Maybelline or L'Oreal do not offer 3 different colours of eyeliners for RM435!

Well... I don't want to swatch these babies just yet since I have some remaining gel liners to finish up. Hence, there'd be no swatches at the mean time.

The only downside of this is that... I expected it to come in bigger jars. I didn't expect how mini these babies were.

There you go, the comparison of the size of the gel liners to my camera - quite dissapointing, right? Nevertheless, these will probably last me for quite some time!

Anyway, that's the end of my cosmetic haul - lemme present to you, my cute, cute niece in my red dress!

How can you not love her?
