Kellie's Castle

Actually, I should be posting this entry like... few months back? Ah, never mind, this is one of the many over-dued entries that I'm supposed to do but since I'm too lazy busy with so many things, I can't find time to do so.

Anyway, let's not talk about that for now. Remember there was a time when I left a simple update telling my readers that I am at Wendy's place at Ipoh? Well, yes, I was there and Wendy took us to Kellie's Castle at Batu Gajah.

The sight of Kellie's Castle is majestic, isn't it? That was my first time there and believe it or not, that was the first time I've heard of Kellie's Castle despite being Malaysian for more than 20 years. Let's not debate on that for now.

Upon entering the castle, we were greeted by a really weird beary tree. Why is it called 'beary tree' instead of tree? Well, take a close look at the picture below and judge for yourself...



Even the newspapers published stories about this 'beary tree' at Kellie's Castle... So sorry that I've just managed to snap a picture of the Malay newspaper because I got so carried away with the story of Kellie's Castle after spotting the weird tree.



Yes, I mean it... I was really carried away with the touching story behind Kellie's Castle. Apparently, Sir William Kellie Smith was the owner of Kellie's Castle. He built this Moorish style manor for the love of his life, Agnes.

Girls, how would you want a husband like that?

Unfortunately, before the castle was even done, tragedies after tragedies hit and Sir Smith died of pneumonia in December 1926 at Lisbon.

Sounds spooky, right? Yes, for all my life, I've always love spooky and mysterious things, so, why did it fascinate me? See...



Sandy got terrified when I was scaring her about I saw someone behind her although I didn't see anyone. Haha... I know I was being mean but I did tell Wendy that maybe we should stay until dawn breaks if we want to see the ghost of Sir Smith wandering along the corridor. All of the sudden, three of them went silent after I've said those because they spotted a hexagon being drawn on the floor of the castle.

It struck Wendy that the hexagon thing was used for witchcraft since there were few candles on the floor. Since it was getting kinda late, Sandy and Lingling suggested that we should be going back.

Okay, enough say of horror stories... Before we left the castle, we did camwhore a bit...
