i-Vision Daily Disposable Color Soft Contact Lens

Honestly, ever since I quit my job in April 2015, I haven't been toying much with make-up or even contact lenses. However, there are several occasions that required me to doll myself up and in such situations, I need my lenses to be readily available!

That practically means - I have to ensure there are lenses in my makeup wardrobe.

During my previous trip to Taiwan, I stocked up quite a number of coloured contact lenses and few of them made it to my 2015 favorites. I had to get friends who went to Taiwan to help me stock these lenses up.

Today, however, I am going to share one of my favorite lenses bought from Sasa @ Taiwan with all of you here.

One confession - I can't read Chinese characters or I can't really recognize Chinese characters well. However, if you are interested these lenses are from i-Vision. The ones that I have gotten were i-Vision Daily Disposable Color Soft Contact Lens. The packaging itself stands out since it is a pink on black which spelled elegance.

Anyway, I am one lucky person. I didn't want to use these lenses up so quickly that I would probably skimp and skimp and ended up not using any of them. I was thinking, "I don't want to run out of them any time soon!"

When Mr. BF's sister went to Taiwan last month, I was ecstatic! I had to get her to buy more lenses for me and thus, it explains why I have more of the same lenses!

The two colors that I bought were brown with black rim and light brown with dark brown rim.

I was quite skeptical to get the lighter brown lens just because I am not so adventurous as I age. Colors like green, blue and purple are more colorful so I thought they just don't suit me any longer.

All these lenses are daily disposable lenses. That basically means after using once, you would have to dispose them.

If you can read Chinese characters, here's a close-up picture of the lenses' descriptions.

Another reason why I got these lenses was because of the smaller diameter. At 14.2mm, they are just nice! I do not particularly like lenses that are 14.5mm or more. Although I know the bigger the diameter is, the more dollish effect the lenses are going to give but personally, I'm way through the phase of trying to look like a doll or even trying to be cute.

The dark brown with black rim lenses look very natural but I do not have a picture of me wearing them. The thing about ageing is that you tend to forget about things from time to time. Well, an excuse is an excuse.

The light brown with dark brown rim lenses look okay in real person however, in flash photography, I don't think I like it but it was okay.

I prefer lenses that give you an impression that your natural eye color blends with the lenses.

On comfort-ability, the whole reason for me to stock these lenses up - they are comfortable!

Honestly, after I started switching to daily disposable lenses, I found out that these lenses are more comfortable and best of all, they're more hygienic.

For monthly and yearly disposable lenses, you have to take extra precautions like washing your hands before and after application, washing the lenses to remove the protein coats, bla, bla, bla. It's just too much nuisance for me.

Now, here's another picture of me wearing the light brown with dark brown lenses.

A box of 10 pieces of daily disposable lenses is priced at NTW$269. They can only be purchased in Sasa outlets in Taiwan.

So, if you're thinking about trying these lenses, remember to get help from your friends who are going to Taiwan to get them for you.

Magic Colour Lens

I can't believe time sizzles!

I have been busy or at least pretty much occupied with the thought that I have yet to complete my tasks at hand which will due in 2 to 3 weeks to come. However, I could still procrastinate because I believe that when something needs to be done, miraculously, it will be done when the time comes #procrastinator!

I think I have been neglecting my blog a bit these days. My life has been pretty crazy these days that whenever I feel the need to update my blog, the thought just shut me down. I told myself that I will be updating real soon but I always ended up doing something else.

Anyway, I'll head straight into my review as of now since this is an overdue entry.

We are gonna talk about color lenses. I love my coloured lens because they really do enhance the overall look. However, I am not really adventurous when it comes to colours. I prefer my sexy greys and down-to-earth browns. Other than these two, I don't think other colours would suit me as I age.

There's one brand of color lenses that I have been itching to try out - Magic Colour Lens.

Truth be told - I have heard quite a number of positive feedbacks of these lenses. So, I finally gave in to my desire when I got to know they were having promotion 3 to 4 months ago.

Talking about shopping-ban, huh?

I bought a total of 10 pairs of lenses from them.

One thing that I really like about the lenses is the packaging. I despise lenses that comes in glass vials. I am quite paranoid about opening the vials because I am forever scared of cutting my fingers while opening them. When I read about Isabelle's little incident, it scared the wits out of me because I am quite accident prone!

I stopped buying lenses in glass vials after that.

I know I am a little bit kiasi but hey, I don't wanna risk cutting my fingers because there are just so much work waiting toe be completed!

Anyhoo... Magic Colour Lens has one of the most spectacular packaging because it comes in blisters! It basically means no accident!

I figured out I will only do review on two pairs of the lenses because I always forget to take pictures!

All lenses from Magic Colours come in 16mm diameter.

First pair - Stilette Brown.

I half expected myself to love this brown but honestly, I hated this pair.

Firstly, it was because I felt uncomfortable wearing them for the first and second time. I could feel the lenses were drying out my eyes. The feeling was so irritating that I had to take them out after the second hour, every time I wore these lenses. I had to dispose them after using it for 2 weeks - it's a total waste of money!

Secondly, I would say this colour is a little bit too dark hence, the brown is a little unnoticeable in flash photography.

In real life, I would say it made my pupils looked very dark thus, resulting in the most unnatural eyes.

Next in the line would be the Dazzle series. Actually I have purchase 4 pairs from the Dazzle series. I did not quite like Dazzle Grey even though I am nuts for any grey coloured lenses. If you're wondering why I have gotten so many pairs from this series, well... let's just say I am not really into lenses with black rims.

The pair that I am reviewing would be Dazzle Aqua.

I did mention that I am not too adventurous when it comes to coloured lenses but I got a blue lens! LOLX! There's a reason for it.

The first look at the lenses, I would say the aqua lenses looked kinda greyish blue. They are not exactly blue. I was thinking to myself the blue wouldn't be too obvious so there's nothing to be worried of.

True enough, when I inserted the lenses into my eyes, the aqua shade doesn't really show up. In fact, they looked a little bit greyish.

So, I am not a blue-eyed monster after all! LOLX!

In real life, aside from having 16mm diameter, this shade looks pretty decent and natural. It blends in well with the natural colour of my pupils.

Here's a picture of the overall look.

Natural, right?

Oh, another picture of the lenses in flash photography.

The aqua isn't really too obvious too, which is like *thumbs up* good.

As of comfort level, surprisingly, Dazzle Blue feels more comfortable than Stilette Brown. I don't know why. Perhaps what one of my friends said was right. She told me, out of 10 pairs of lenses you get, on average, there will be a pair or two that will not be comfortable.

Magic Colour Lens is having promotion now so, if you're interested, you can head over to their website to order.Ma

As cold as the ice...

I guess I haven't been doing any entries related to contact lenses for such a long time! I think the last review of these lenses was done in August last year and it was about Blincon BB Grey. Since then, I have totally forgotten how much I used to love cosmetic lenses because I reverted back to use normal, boring, colourless lenses - yeah, just because I am a boring person.

First fact about me when it comes to cosmetic lenses - I am a big fan of grey lenses. Second fact - I don't fancy lenses with thick black rims. I just prefer my lenses without those rims.

I was initially attracted to EOS Ice Grey but since I didn't know where to get them and at the same time I saw Dolly Eye has similar design, I settled for Dolly Eye Icy Melon in Grey.

Honestly, I like all the colours from this series but I am just not adventurous enough to try them old - yes, call me boring, old hag if you want. LOLX!

Just like any typical lenses you get online or wherever it is, these lenses come in glass packaging. Well, it might not be something some of us would prefer but personally, I have no issues with the packaging.

Okay, behold... a picture of me with one side of the lens on - yes, without the dark, black rims, of course!

If I am not mistaken, the diameter is 14.8mm which for me is acceptable because I am not someone who loves extra enlarging effect. Yeah, yours truly is no longer young therefore, I need something that doesn't make me look like I am trying too hard to be cute.

I like the fact that the lenses are pretty comfortable for daily use. I have tried wearing them for a week for about 10 hours a day - they're not bad at all!

Plus, the grey colour looks quite nice in my eyes!

Okay, sorry for scaring you off with my naked face. LOLX!

Here's a picture of the lenses in my eyes - fully made-up and having my hair styled!

Here's a summary of what I think of the lenses...

Comfort - 4 out of 5
Enlarging effect - 2 out 5

I bought mine from Classic Geo Lens and re-purchased the second pair in blue.

Trying out Blincon

Personally, I'm not really someone who is adventurous enough. You guys know that. If I am already comfortable with one product, I guess you'll be seeing me with that product for the longest time.

Well, it applies to contact lenses as well. I've been wearing Super Barbie lenses for God-knows-how-long and to me, they were comfortable and pretty opaque. So, I thought to myself that I might stick to it for some time.

When my house was broken into about a month ago, these brainless idiots took all my 7 pairs of lenses together with them! Now, you tell me, which idiot goes around stealing lenses with power that is not even suitable for them? They might as well, take everything and leave those lenses behind, right?

I had like a week to get a pair of new lenses for my BFF's wedding and ordering online probably wouldn't help much since postage from WM to EM takes an extra day or two. Plus, using internet from my hometown is a b*tch. I get disconnected all the times!

I headed out to the optometrist and ended up getting a pair of Blincon lenses because there weren't a lot to choose from.

If you have not heard of Blincon yet, then, most probably you haven't been paying enough attention when you're doing your shopping because I did get brochures on Blincon lenses most of the times when I was out, especially at 1 Utama.

I bought the shade in grey because I always have a thing for grey lenses.

Honestly, the only reason that made me purchase this pair of lenses was because of the packaging. I don't really prefer the typical bottle-like packaging but this packaging makes opening up the products so much easier!

The diameter comes in 14.5mm which if you were to ask me, does not really serve major or obvious enlarging purposes.

One thing I was worried about was that if the colour was opaque enough or not since I never do like contact lenses that are almost invisible in the eyes. The grey colour is quite opaque and it could be seen in flash as well as non-flash photography.

For your information, I only tried these lenses in grey hence, I'm not sure if other colours are opaque or obvious. Head out to the nearest optometrist to ask if you're interested. I'm sure they'll be glad to assist you.

Blincon lenses are 3-monthly disposable. I have no objection to that because for it's price, I guess it is okay.

I am not really in love with these lenses because I think the design isn't really up to my expectations. Plus, I don't really like lenses with black rims, ya'll know that. At the same time, I have nothing against it, so please don't judge me.

On the comfortableness, I seriously don't think these lenses are very comfortable because I did experience dryness after 2 hours every time I used it and after the third or fourth hour, it started to get a little annoying because the curve definitely did not sit still on my pupils.

If I am not mistaken, Blincon lenses retail at RM90 per pair.

However, I did not pay RM90 for mine because lenses at my hometown are far cheaper than what you can get in KL or elsewhere. I paid RM40 for mine and I bought it from a certified optician.

Have you tried out these lenses?

Super Barbie Puffy 3 Tones

To be honest, I was never a fan of blue coloured cosmetic lenses. Well, I am not an adventurous person when it comes to colours be it in my cloth selection, eyeshadows or even lenses.

However, these days, I am trying to incorporate more colours since it's summer and summer is all about vibrancy!

I've bought these pair of lenses for quite some time already but I have yet to test them because I am firstly, too lazy to wear lenses, secondly, there is no occasions for me to wear lenses because I am lazy and thirdly, I doubt I will look good in blue lenses.

Anyhow, I am gonna share my experience with you all.

Super Barbie Puffy 3 Tones in blue.

Seriously, when I got it in the mail, I almost had a heart attack because the blue colour looked so freaking opaque! Besides that, I have never tried any blue lenses before!

Hence, after I put it away, I came to forget about these lenses for quite some time until last week when I finally had the chance to well, try it out.

OMG... I don't want to exaggerate but FML... I don't think this colour or maybe design do me any justice because my first thought was, "FML, I look like a friggin' alien with blue eyes!"

I scared the wits out of myself!

If I am not mistaken, the enlargement is 15mm for Super Barbie series. Honestly, I don't think the enlargement is obvious. Well, it could be because the diameter of my pupil is already large, hence, there is not much difference...

I thought to myself for a while, these lenses should be worn with makeup or else everyone will stare at me as if I am some sorta living dead.

Even a friend of mine, put it as, "Argh... blue-eyed ghost!" when he saw me. Talking about scary?

In the end, despite of my laziness, I attempted to put makeup on to reduce the level of scariness and I don't know if it works but bah... you can be your own judge.

Flash photography sucks with these lenses...

On the comfortableness of wearing these lenses, yeah, they are quite comfortable. They don't feel dry even after the fourth hour.

If you're interested, head to Classic Geo Lens to get yours!

Bling, eyes, bling!

It has been really, really long since I last used any contact lenses. When I say long, yes, it is long because the last time I used my grey lenses was somewhere back in January, during Chinese New Year. Yeah, it feels freaking long!

My hands were itchy yesterday - itchy as in, itching to try new colour lenses in my possession. LOLX! I have like 8 pairs of lenses with me but due to my laziness, I've never really opened a new pair after throwing away my grey lenses about 2 months ago. So... yesterday, my itching hands couldn't take it any longer, hence, I opened up a new pair of colour lenses.

I have this pair of lenses for about a year now but every time when I wanted to use this pair, I would change my mind because I think I look SEXIER with grey eyes instead of other colours. Hahaha... this is just my lame and stupid reason to wear grey lenses.

Silly stories aside for now... lenses of the day - Super Barbie Romana.

I don't remember why I bought this pair from this series. The only thing I remember is that, I wanted another colour from another series but most of the lenses ran out of stock already. Erm... I don't know... perhaps it could be due to the catalog that I saw online.

Damn nice, right?

So, tempted, I bought this pair. Hahaha... yes, I think that could be another reason.

This time around, I've chose to be a little more adventurous by choosing to go purple with pulse! LOLX... purple with pulse because if I go green, people will say I go green with envy, or blue with a bang!

=.="

Purple because I thought the model looked at her best in the catalogue. Hence, purple it shall be!

Initially, when I first got it, I began to regret because it surely didn't look striking enough. Soon, I forgot all about it until yesterday, when I just got two pairs of new lenses that I suddenly remembered that I had another 6 pairs of new colour lenses in my train case!

As stated in the packaging, the lenses are 16mm in diameter. I don't know about you but I certainly don't adore anything above 15mm after trying out my first pair of 16mm colour lenses.

I'm not sure what base curve is but if you're familiar with it, the base curve for this series is 8.6mm whatever that means. The water content is 48% if you're wondering. I don't know if this percentage is high or low but I do know that my eyes did feel uncomfortable due to the big arse enlargement effect.

I've made the statement sound so wrong. Hahaha.

I figured out I couldn't show you my naked face with the lenses, hence, it explains why I wore makeup in all the pictures because lenses will look weird if you don't pair them with makeup. I did go out after that but only to get something.

Me and my boring life. Haha. One final picture before I show you the differences between wearing and not wearing the lenses.

Super Barbie Hybrid in Grey

I guess when I am finally posting this entry, I've discarded this pair of colour lenses already. Normally, I'd dispose yearly contact lenses after three months of using. Well, that's me!

Okay, so, getting to the point - Super Barbie Hybrid.

If you're a contact lenses' users, you would have heard about the Super Barbie series. For once, if you don't know, I am quite particular about my lenses be it, the normal lenses or colour lenses. I don't like colour lenses with THICK rims because I hate those black rims around the coloured lenses.

For most of the colour lenses that I've used before, it was either I've chosen those with minimal black rims or those without rims. I cannot come to digest why people love those black rims. I know those rims serve as enlarging effect to your pupils but... don't those rims look fake?

Anyway, that is purely my opinion, you can disagree with me.

When I saw Super Barbie Hybrid, I fell in love like immediately.

Can't you see in the picture above? The rim looks less than minimal - almost invisible! I love it!

When I wanted to place my order at that time, the supplier didn't have those with degrees and FML, my eyesight is really bad! Without glasses, I am practically blind!

So, I waited for two to three months for the new stocks to reach the supplier and again, I couldn't get my hands on this series! FML again!

Until November or December last year, the supplier whom I got my lenses from, finally had the lenses with my degrees and the exact colour that I wanted - grey!

It looks exactly like this...

Minimal colour and minimal everything!

I wasn't really intrigued with the colour because I thought to myself, "For sure the grey colour cannot show up in the eyes later!"

Well... I was maybe... a little wrong... it did show up in the eyes and yeah, I find myself adoring my eyes after that. LOLX!

For your information the diameter of this series is 16mm and if you're not a big fan of super enlarging effect lenses, I'll advice you not to get it because honestly, it was a pain in the arse to get these lenses into the eyes.

I kid you not!

I had to open my eyes really BIG like literally BIGGER than when I was wearing other lenses because 16mm looks huge!

Oh, yeah, I bet you all know that you will look better if you're pairing your colour lenses with some makeup because well... definitely, I never will wear lenses without makeup on!

There you go! My eyes of the day with Super Barbie Hybrid in Grey! Purple eyeshadows with a little darker shade on the outer V as well as blue liner on the lower eyelids.

Lemme show you the difference with and without the lenses on...

Honestly, the 16mm lenses do not look obvious but hey, those lenses are damn big, okay?!

Okay, stop staring at the picture - it looks scary.

At the end of the day, after I removed the lenses, my eyes felt so much better without them. I guess those 16mm did strain my eyes a little.

It didn't sting or anything but it was just that the 16mm did make the wearing experience a little well... not so comfortable.

I guess you could see it from the picture above that my eyes kinda looked tired after wearing it for 6 hours.

Bah... I still have a pair of Super Barbie Hybrid in Green.
Pros
Looks quite natural. No black rims!
Cons
The extra enlarging effect of 16mm makes the wearing experience a little uncomfortable. Quite dry on the eyes.
Price - RM30 for 2 pairs during promotion
Product - 2.5 out of 5
Packaging - 2 out of 5
Availability - Classic Geo Lens
Re-purchase - No

Anyway, have you try out this series from the Super Barbie before?

Update on colour lenses

Note - Please bear in mind I am no expert. If you need advices, please head to your nearest optician or optometry.

As you all know, I wear glasses. I can't deny the fact that glasses have their own attractions provided you select the right frames. Then again, there are times, well... you should loose those glasses, especially if you're attending formal functions.

I don't mean that you shouldn't wear glasses to formal functions but we are all typical girls and we love to doll ourselves up. Sometimes, we opt for contact lenses. I am for example, one of many contact lens wearer and I was only exposed to the contact lenses when I was 16. Ah... that was like more than 10 years back!

Gone were the days when I thought colour lenses were bad and they could colourize your vision - e.g. if you were wearing blue, you'd have blue vision. Stupid me... LOLX!

My first pair of colour lens were from Freshkon. If I don't remember wrongly, I had it in black and after that, dad told me to wear brown instead because according to him, my eyes looked so fake with black lenses. If you can't imagine, here are two pictures to help ya.

There you go - black circle lenses! Hahahaha... Both from Freshkon Alluring Eyes. No, no, no... please don't judge me - those pictures were taken back in 2009 so, you know why I was so freaking ugly so... shuddap!

No, I am not gonna go through the history of my contact lenses. So, if you're interested, click here and here.

Anyway, I threw away my Super Barbie Vanna in Grey last week because I've been using it for maybe 5 months already. Even though those lenses are of yearly disposable, normally, after 6 months, I'd dispose them for hygiene purposes. I am not gonna risk my eyes of infection, no, no, no!

If you're too lazy to click the above links, here you go... another picture of me, wearing Super Barbie Vanna in Grey.

This picture was from the recent Empro Roadshow. LOLX! Boy, I hate my hair in the picture above. The photographer lengzai didn't tell me my hair was so messy...

Let's get you back to the initial story.

Anyway, after experimenting with a lot of different lenses, I'm proud to announce that I'm forever hooked with Super Barbie lenses but that doesn't mean I won't try other brands of lenses.

I've decided life without colour lenses is BORING. I mean, it's not fair that those Caucasians have blue, green, brown or grey eyes and us Asians, we are stuck with dark brown eyes. Unfair, unfair... so, whosoever that created colour lenses, he or she is GENIUS because people like me, depends on these lenses to enhance our looks!

Tra, la, la, la... it's now time to show off my newly purchased lenses!

On the whole, I am not very adventurous when it comes to green, pink, red or brown lenses. I tried purple lenses before and well... I don't really like them... At the end of the day, I found myself purchasing a lot of grey and blue lenses because well... I ain't cute to begin with, hence, grey and blue are the right colour for me because I love it when my eyes shout out, "I am damn sexy, look at me!"

I think I'm gonna try out Fynale Lens soon.

Oh, before I forgot... yeah, regarding the diameter of the lenses... I am not keen on anything that's over 15mm because I tried out Geo Super Angel 16mm and the lenses looked scary on me... hence... anything beyond 15mm would be reconsidered.

Look into my eyes...

Spectacles have always been my best friend. I am not afraid to admit that I am short-sighted because there's nothing to hide and I wanna get Lasik Surgery done and nothing embarrassing as well. Glasses or spectacles are fashion icons in this century!

I started wearing contact lens at the age of 16. Back then, even though there are such thing as cosmetic or colour lenses, still, I was unsure I would try that because I thought these lenses were for ang-moh wannabes. Well, I take back my words because even though I do wear colour or cosmetic lenses now, I have no intention of turning myself into an ang-moh. I am proud to be a Chinese.

A while back, I ordered two pair of lenses from Classic Geo Lens - Super Barbie Vanna and Super Barbie Lush, if I am not mistaken because I only own Super Barbie Vanna while the other pair belongs to my sister. Packaging was really neat when it came.

I was thinking, "OMG... the packaging is pink! So cute!!!" Like all my life, when I ordered lenses online, there wasn't a chance for me to even bump into a packaging like what Classic Geo Lens has provided.

Lenses were securely wrapped with bubble wrap, which was good. When taken out of the packaging, everything was in good condition, including the boxes for lenses. The owner was really smart to take out the lenses and separate the boxes to maintain the shape of the boxes!

Super cute pink boxes, right? I guess I should continue wearing Barbie Lens because I love pink packaging and everything pink exception for pink lenses. Well, I don't mind trying out pink lenses if I have the chance but then again, I think pink in the eyes will look weird on me.

Anyway, lemme show you a picture of the lens itself.

Honestly, I don't really fancy lenses with thick rims on the side because I think it'd look fake in the eyes. After much browsing through of the website, finally, I ended up choosing Super Barbie Vanna in Grey because they ran out of Super Barbie Hybrid.

The lens is 15.8mm in diameter which is like 0.18 wider than the normal colour lenses. I do not like anything wider than 16mm.

When inserted into the eyes, this lens however do not appear to be wide. Personally, I'd say, it doesn't even look 15.8mm, which is good because they look natural in the eyes!

Warning, girls, I don't know about you but have you heard the saying that goes there are no ugly girls but only lazy girls. So, my take is, if you're on colour lenses, put on some makeup! I'm sure you don't want to end up looking like an Asian zombie, right?

Guess what? I first wore this lenses to my friend's wedding and I got a lot of compliments from other friends that these lenses look so nice and natural! LOLX!

On lazy days, if you don't feel like putting on makeup, just eyeliner with the lenses will brighten up your whole look!

I tried wearing this lens for 12 hours in a row and it doesn't feel dry at all. For your information, this statement might differ from an individual to another individual. What works for me might not work for you. So, beware... if you're a starting out with colour lenses, it is advisable to approach your optician or even, just wearing them for less than 6 hours to test them out.

Pros
Not drying in my eyes. Does not feel irritable as some lenses do. Affordable at only RM23 per pair inclusive of shipping.

Cons
None

In a nutshell, I am happy with this purchase and yeah, I will be wearing them more often or perhaps, going back to get more pairs.
