As cool as green tea

I know some of you are gonna strangle me alive because I've been talking about food in consequently two of my entries. Anyway, I am still gonna talk about food today, in this entry. Hahaha... today, it's about healthy food.

It is none other than green tea!

It is healthy, right? A healthy beverage!

Sometimes, healthy food can be processed into yummilicious desserts, right? Hehehe... yes, sinfully yummilicious!

Well... you can always head out to get these desserts or maybe if you're a little health conscious like me, you can opt for green TEA instead. Hahahaha.

Green tea in fact is beneficial if we were to add it into our skincare routine!

Lemme brief you on the benefits of green tea.

  1. Fighting Free Radicals

Catechins is a type of antioxidant present in green tea that aid in fighting skin damages caused by free radicals that might leads to premature ageing of the skin.
  2. Neutralizing UV Light

Acts as UV protection if you are under the sun. In severe cases, over exposure to sun might leads to skin cancer.
  3. Preventing Skin Cancer

The antioxidant effects in green tea actually helps to prevent skin cancer. A daily intake of green tea may help to lower the possibility of developing cancerous cells.

A tinge of lemon added into green tea can also boost the antioxidant's anti cancer properties.
  4. Rejuvenating Skin Cells

Green tea can miraculously rejuvenate old skin cells that are at the end of their life cycles. In another word, it also means reversing ageing effect.

Please bear in mind reversing and preventing are two different things, so don't quote me if you don't understand the two terms.
  5. Fight Inflammation

Green tea has powerful anti-inflammatory effect. If your skin is very sensitive and often red, products containing green tea extract may help soothe it.
  6. Improve Psoriasis and Dandruff Conditions

People with skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea, and dandruff which are caused by inflammation, may benefit the most from the anti-inflammatory action of the chemicals in green tea.
  7. Soothing Acnes and Lightening Skin

Catechins are anti-bacterial that decreases hormone activity. Researchers noted the green tea cream seemed to lighten patients' skin color and improve the overall appearance of their complexion.
So, there you go... a simplified benefits of green tea just for your information.

Well... the main thing is still... we need to get into product review, right? Hahahaha... I am sorry if the introduction is a little too long.

Our star of the day is Tony Moly Ice Queen Crispy Green Tea Pack.

I was dying to get this product before Tony Moly even started in Malaysia. I have heard about the Ice Queen range and the only thing that really attracted me was the packaging. You should google the range up to know why I was obsessed with the packaging - super cute!

I got this product during MOFEW last year and at a discounted price of RM35. If you're gonna get it from Tony Moly, the retail price is RM59.90 each.

When you remove the lid, you will see another protective lid inside. The reason is easy - to prevent product from spilling.

Kinda sleek, I guess...

When I was at this phase of lifting the lid inside, I was super excited because I was half expecting another creamy product but when the lid was lifted, I was a little disappointed... I don't know why.

It looks something like this...

Clear, green gel product with green tea pulps inside.

I was thinking, it smells good, it should be working good at least. I mean, I don't expect things to forever be working great but at least, deliver effects if you want me to re-purchase. I bet there are a lot of you who agree with me.

Anyway, I'll show you a picture of the product being applied on the back of my hand - without rubbing, massaging or anything.

Honestly, the only good reason why I enjoy using this product is because it smells good. Other than the fact that it does smell good, I don't think there is anything that is worth re-purchasing.

Okay, that's for me, not for you because I know there are people who love this product.

So, if you're gonna massage and rub this product, you can actually feel the pulp on your face.

How this product works is actually quite simple. Like any other wash-off masks, all you've gotta do is to apply this product on your face and massage gently. Leave it on for maybe 15 to 20 minutes. After that, wash your face with warm water.

As easy as A-B-C, right?

I found out I have an issue pertaining the use of this product.

Whenever I wanna wash off the product after 15 minutes or so... it is quite difficult due to the stickiness. I've to rub, rub, rub my face in order for the product to come off.

One advisable thing you should do if you're using this product is, use it before showering. You'll thank me later. LOLX!

Another thing is, I don't hate products that deliver no effects but I will just stop buying them. As for this product, no... it doesn't work for me. I don't feel like skin getting any better. I don't feel my pores being tightened or anything.

Other than smelling real good for kisses on the face and feeling kinda refreshed, nayyyy... it doesn't do anything to my skin at all throughout the 3 months of using it. No pore-tightening effect. No whitening effect. No moisturizing effect.

Anyway, here goes my two-cent...
Pros
Cute packaging. Nice green tea smell that lingers even after washing it off. Refreshing.

Cons
Quite expensive for a product that delivers no effect.
Price - RM59.90
Product - 2 out of 5
Packaging - 3 out of 5
Availability - Tony Moly @ Sungai Wang
Re-purchase - No

I always get disappointed if the product I've always thought would work ended up not performing as it claims so... you know how I feel about this product. As much as I love green tea products, this one is a big NO-NO for me.

Problems with pores?

As much as I hate to admit it, I wasn't born with perfect skin nor do I have problem-free skin. When I was younger, I had had terrible acne outbreaks for several times and with oily skin, things weren't good as I started to develop habit of squeezing the acnes, pimples, whiteheads and also blackheads.

Over a period of time, I started to notice ugly, enlarged pores appearing right before me. Eeew... Back then, I knew for sure, I deeply regretted squeezing those monsters because if I didn't squeeze them, I wouldn't end up with the terrible skin that I have now - FML!

I guess it's never too late that I realize the problem I have - enlarged pores, pores, pores!

I changed my skincare products around 2 months ago to counter against my skin problem with the hope that these enlarged pores will be gone or maybe at least having the sizes decreased.

I was at Etude House earlier and I was kinda fascinated with this HUMONGOUS toner!

When I say HUGE, I do mean this product is damn huge! I kid you not! Just look at the picture taken below - I was comparing the size of this toner to the size of my face.

See... for this much product, you only pay RM49.90 per bottle - how can that be not worth it, right? The best thing about this product is actually NOT it's performance because I don't think it shrinks my enlarged pores at all, no, no, no...

The best thing about it is the smell - heavenly smell!

I am addicted to the smell.

Nah, here's the English version of the explanation on the packaging. Now, you must say I am nice, okay?

LOLX!

Anyway, let's move on into my personal thoughts on this product.

By far, I don't see any shrunk pores at all - I don't think this product is actually working on me. So, I don't think I will even bother to repurchase it since, yeah, right, a lot of product - worth it but hey, it's NOT working on me!

Before you jump into the conclusion and bitch the hell outta me, do bear in mind that I wash my face twice every day and that includes applying toner, serum and moisturizer so... no, that product still doesn't work.

On top of that Mini Size U Toner, I included this product as well!

It's the Tony Moly Floria Pore-Tightening Essence.

The BA kept on telling me this product for sure will work but it'll work even better if I were to purchase the whole range.

You're kidding me? Whole range costs for than SKII Facial Treatment Essence, hello! I am not idiotic enough to splurge on the whole range!

This bottle alone costs RM109.90 and I tell you, the serum costs around RM129.90 so if you're gonna splurge on Tony Moly, I'd advice you to go for SKII instead.

Again, these are just my thoughts - products that doesn't work on me, may work on you so, if you're curious, try it out but don't put the blame on me if it digs a hole in your pocket, okay?

Like I've said, second month into using it, still not much effect seen - no shrunk pores as well so... you know, I know...

Sighs...

It looks like Imma gonna need to save for SKII instead.

Tony Moly Fresh Cooling Aqua 24 Eyes Stick

I have horrible and terrible dark circles due to insufficient sleep and rest. Aahh... I miss those good old days when I have too much sleep but these days, even after I resigned from my job, I still have those horrid dark circles.

Sometimes, those dark circles are just too obvious that they make my eyes puffy that I'd feel uncomfortable and tired!

Hence... lemme introduce a product that it'll give you a momentary soothing and de-puffing effect - Tony Moly Fresh Cooling Aqua 24 Eyes Stick!

What a long name for a product!

Phew...

Anyway, the product claims that it'll soothe the tired skin around your eyes while refreshes and moisturizes it.

I'd say this product is quite mini - yes... small size... when I first saw it during MOFEW, I was like, "Heck... this product is so damn small - shouldn't be so expensive."

Every judge at Tony Moly Idol gave me an X for the wrong thought.

It retails for RM50 and that is freaking expensive for only 9g worth of product!

There you go, that is all the product - not much, I know. LOLX!

I mean, usually, I wouldn't even splurge on stuffs like this because I'd rather buy a bottle of eyedrop like Rohto but since it was the last day of MOFEW and normally on the last day, a lot of stuffs were sold at relatively cheap prices!

I got this for RM30 only.

So, basically, how do you use this product?

As easy as A-B-C!

Please refer to the picture below.

You just have to make sure your skin is clean so that it won't contaminate the whole product - I hate the packaging though. It does mean every time when you want to use the product, you've gotta wash your face.

I mean if you've washed your face, what's the point of the eye stick, right?

This is the picture of before and after application.

Erm... honestly, I don't feel much difference except for the fact that it does soothe the eyes' area a while but the effect doesn't last long.

Appearance wise, well... it does nothing. You be your own judge.

On another account, I don't really like this product because it does feel sticky. I hate sticky products on my skin. When the product dries up, if you're like me, you love rubbing your eyes, you'll notice a layer of sticky product will come off together - eeewww...

No likey, no likey!

Pros
Soothes, refreshes and moisturizes the skin around the eyes.
Cons
Expensive. Not available in Tony Moly outlet in Sg. Wang. Not hygienic packaging. Leaves a layer of sticky residue after usage.
I don't think I'll be spending RM50 on a product that's below average like this one. I was expecting a lot but well... I know, not every product works for everyone.

Price - RM50
Product - 1.5 out of 5
Packaging - 1.5 out of 5
Availability - Infinite Skin Shop
Re-purchase - No

Shopping at Tony's

The other day, I was hanging out with stupid sister around Pavilion when we passed by Tony Roma's. Stupid sister was telling me, "One of these days, our brother will make it into the history of SKII because all Tony-s are famous!"

LOLX!

Reason was silly and yet predictable. Look at the CEO of Air Asia.

It's Tony Fernandez, baby!

Then, let's turn our heads back at look at the infamous restaurant.

It's Tony Roma's, okay, it's Tony! LOLX! Hahahaha...

Then after a while, we got to know the news that another Korean brand with the name Tony in it was brought into Malaysia!

It's Tony Moly, dearest people!

Finally, after waiting for quite some time, Tony Moly is in Malaysia and for all of you Malaysians out there who are not aware of it yet, currently, there are only two outlets available throughout Malaysia - JB and Sungei Wang, KL. The outlet in JB is somehow bigger than the one in KL, hence, when stupid sister and I dropped by yesterday, quite a number of products are not available in KL yet.

Anyway, this was our haul of the day!

Err... we should feel shameful to say this but, yes, we've spent again despite telling ourselves to finish up the existing products. Girls will forever be girls, I guess.

The total damage was more than RM300 and boy, it was scary because both of us did not expect to spend so much. Well, there was a 20% discount in conjunction of their official launching and opening.

I am not gonna review on all the products just yet but if you're interested in the prices of the products, I'll try to remember them for you and you'll be the judge if my memory fails me or not. I'll start with the skincare range but please be kind, okay? I'm not a computer or a robot to remember every single price.

I Love Tony!

Okay, I know it's way past my bed time but then again, I am getting a little excited over here and I wanna share something before I bunk in!

As much as I'm not really in Korean or Japanese beauty or skincare products, I have to admit that these Asian products are so, so presentable in a way that they'll really burden your pocket since the packaging of these products is so cute!

No, I kid you not. Imagine Etude House, where BCs are all dressed in cute apron-look-alike attires and imagine Tsubasa's cosmetic line - are they cute or am I crazy? Okay, I know, the answer is obviously I am crazy because I am blogging at 3 in the morning instead of dreaming about my prince charming!

But, hey, who cares about prince charming or anything - I am not interested because I've just found Tony Moly not long ago and I'm in love with whosoever the founder of this product is!

First thing first - the ice-queen packs! Gosh!

Don't they look some kinda ice-cream inspired? OMG... they're just so cute that I've gotta have those! Maybe one, maybe two or maybe all of the collection! I've read reviews about these packs and indeed, the reviews are good!

Next up is the tear drop collection!

I guess it's pretty obvious I'm eyeing the anti-wrinkle and whitening cream. LOLX! Blame it on ageing that I'm getting more and more anal about anti-wrinkle products! Yes, ageing is definitely not a fun process and to avoid it, you've gotta slap on tons and tons of products or else you're gonna end up being a spinster like me.

Whenever I see friends with super duper nice complexion, especially a friend of mine, SK, I would be awed by his near perfect complexion. You know, he's a guy and he's fair WITHOUT a slight sign of pimples, acne, pigmentations or even pores. More over, I couldn't help but notice he has this nice glow and also natural blushing pink cheeks. This world is damn unfair, not that I wanna comment but SK's complexion is really something any girl would be jealous about!

Since my pores are like so HUGE and if only my brain is as huge as my pores, I'll be super smart hence, I'm very aware that I need certain products to diminish the obvious pores because they're just so fugly. Nonetheless, every time I purchase pore diminishing products, I always end up being disappointed because none of them actually works!

Hence, I tell myself, "One of these days, Imma gonna try out the world's best pore diminishing product!"

I came across Tony Moly's Egg Pore Series not long ago and honestly, I really wanna try them out!

The first reason is as easy as A-B-C. The packaging is just to-die-for. Regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of these pore products, I am not quite sure since I have yet to set my hands on these babies. Well, I'm still trying to lash out every single beauty and skincare products in my possession before buying new ones.

Thus, enough say!

Which one of you is the biggest Starbucks fan? For once, I know I am one of Starbucks' fans because yes, I worked for Starbucks back then and totally enjoyed the working experience there!

If you're into Starbucks and coffee as much as I am, Tony Moly has a line called Latte Art and darn... the packaging is so, so, so cute that I can die-and-go-straight-heaven after first glance!

I've read reviews about these two products too and guess what again? Reviews are great and packaging is greater! LOLX!

So, Imma gonna get those soon!

How many of us actually use mist spray like MAC Fix+ to set our makeup? I don't know about you but I do use mist spray to set mine because I found out not long ago that mist spray actually helps to make the makeup lasts longer on my oily skin besides making my skin looks hydrated and more awake.

Introducing TM Pocket Bunny Mist! LOLX! I'm not sure if you could use these mists on your face but I guess you could because, it's mist after all but correct me if I'm wrong because I'm stuck to one mist as of now from Nature Republic.

Erm... football fan? I may not be one aih... that brings back memories of somebody but when it comes to this product... I'll make an exception!

Our legs need as much love and care as other parts of our bodies. I just noticed that my legs look so dehydrated lately. I don't know the reason because most of the time, I overlook it, that explains why the skin is peeling off on its own. Perhaps, I'll consider getting this product.

Fruit Garden Series?! Am I seeing double or triple? LOLX! Hahahaha... Aside from Sasa or Baviphat, TM has a line too!

I'm not sure about this garden series but I'm yet to finish my Sasa's Garden Series. Maybe I'll consider getting one once I'm done with the existing products.

Remember I've mentioned about lips and cheeks tints and how anal I am about blushers and stuffs? I have a good intention of collection all different brands of tints in the whole world! LOLX! Crazy but true!

TM's tints look so adorable!

Cute, right, cute, right? Aduh... I've gotta set my hands on all these tints but I believe they're not all available in Malaysia yet for the time being. Let's see if I can get them when I'm traveling to Korea soon!

Cross my fingers!

Anyway, that will be all for the time being. Hey, check out my new wishlist before you go!
